Only done about 500 miles in it but getting 36.5 (UK) mpg according to the OBC. 90% Comfort mode, 50/50 town/country lanes/short/long trips, don't use A/C much. Not too disappointed with that so far

Don't forget guys that there's a difference between UK and US gallons. A UK gallon is approx 4.54 litres whereas a US gallon is approx 3.79 litres. Bear this in mind when comparing results - a US driver getting 30mpg is equivalent to a UK driver getting 36mpg.

About 9.5l/100km or 24.76MPG.... that's what the car tells me but While filling my tank with 60l of gas I average about 550km which is close to 11l/100km or 21.38mpg.
Mainly driving on comfort mode 80% eco/sports 20%. I did, on my last fillup solely drive on ecopro to test it out and well not much of a difference honestly, maybe 40 extra kms ...

I'm getting about 10l/100km or 23.52MPG (US) from the reading on the OBC.
Should we be getting more than that? I thought the average rating was suppose to be 7.9l/100km city and 5.3l/100km hwy, and combined 6.7l/100km. My drive to work about is about 9 km. About 4.5 hwy and 4.5 city. Maybe that's the reason for the reduced fuel efficiency (Not driving long enough in one go?) |

I have read that the BMW recommended premium unleaded (octane 91-92 USA) will give you the best MPG. You can run lower octane like regular (octane 89 USA) in the engine; because of the anti-knock sensors that retards ignition. But I would not! Lower octane will equate to lower MPG and possible problems over time.
I assume everyone is quoting MPG using Premium Unleaded (in the USA).. |

F30 14 gallons e92 16
I'm getting about 24mpg between city and highway. But I notice that I'm going to the pump at about 1 to 1.5 times a week. Has any notice how often your putting gas? I also notice that my f30 has 14 gallons on my e92 I had 16 gallons.

I just filled my 2nd tank in my 335i. It took 15.1 gallons, with a wee bit over "empty" on the gauge. I don't know if the dealer filled it completely, but the first tank averaged about 22mpg, and that's will a new and tight engine. Very mixed driving, sport mode all the time, and mostly manual shifting the sport AT. Tire pressures set at 35psi front, and 38psi rear. BMW recommends 32frt and 35rr. Consistent highway driving above 100mph, or full capacity calls for 39frt and 41rr, for my 18" UHP Summer tires. What PSI are you guys running? I recommend upping both ends by 3 psi, from standard, for improved MPG and better tire wear, side benefit of a bit quicker steering response too. |

Drive my 328i mainly in Eco-pro. Checked a few times in the computer after returning from a trip and most of the times it showed 6,4 ltr to 100 km's, which is about what is promised in the brochure.

mid-8's/100km mixed. Around 5L/100km on the highway, if not less.
I'm a fan of EcoPRO on the morning commute which probably helps too. |

I've been averaging about 30mpg on my daily commute (40 miles round trip, half backroads/half highway, of which 30% is stop/go). I had to take a trip up to boston yesterday (around 200 miles round trip), so I decided to see how well I could do. Car had about 300 miles at the start, and in Eco Pro I averaged 35.1mpg. It's worth noting that I was in traffic for over an hour; I think I could broken 36mpg without difficulty.

I was initially averaging about 25-27 MPG for my local driving, mostly winding roads up with some hills. The last 3 tanks I've averaged 29 MPG for the same route. Not sure if the increase is due to the engine breaking in more or the fact the temperatures have dropped so the AC is on less. Happy either way. Every trip I've taken my average is 33-36 MPG, but that is travelling at speeds in excess of 100+ MPH.
