I'm really sorry, I am new to this do you mean in the ZGW_SEARCH?
when i try to run that program i get an error..: a file is missing or invalid

i am gonna reinstall eysy

No. You do not need to reinstall E-Sys.

You need to register MSWINSCK.ocx to your OS.

From the Command Line, enter:

regsvr32 /u "C:\EDIABAS\Hardware\ENET\MSWINSCK.OCX"
regsvr32 "C:\EDIABAS\Hardware\ENET\MSWINSCK.OCX"

But ZGWSearch is informational only, and nonfunctional, so it is not even needed to run E-Sys. You can register the .OCX and use it, or not use it at all. Your choice.

thanks shawnsheridan! I was using my .gov work laptop which has a lot of restrictions through gpo or whatever.. I have administrative rights but i wasn't able to disable the windows firewall.

After registering the .ocx on my personal laptop I was able to see the connection ZGWSearch.

hopefully I'm almost there.. I gonna try to code code my loaner F30 today.. lol

Right, I have now coded 6NS successfully into the car, then tried unpairing and re-pairing my phones but no streaming services or telephone 1/2 as yet.

Do I need to wait a couple of hours for this to spring into life as per some of the other coding options?

You have to go into the options of the phone in iDrive and select which options to use.

I think there are 4,

1st phone
Data
Music
...

Only after setting the music option is it possible to stream music.
with android its good, as soon as the phone connects, it starts the music app.

Even starts TuneIn automatically.

Yes, as I say, even when I go back into the "configure" menu (for a existing connected phone) or unpair everything and start again from scratch, I don't get the additional menu options, just the Telephone functionality.

I'm trying both my Nexus 4 and an iPhone 4s, so I'm sure the phones themselves are not at fault.

After a software update yesterday to fix some gearbox issues, they had reset all my coding.

Trying to code back it seems that all the files on my old E-Sys don't work anymore because of the CADF files on my car beeing updated now.

Any chance to get hold on New E-Sys files?

Sounds like the coding didnt work.

Once you code 6NS, it should show the extra options.

I've written and verified the FA. Not sure what else is needed or that I can do to confirm it. 6NS appears in the directory tree.

Did you also remove old option code, 6NH, 6NK, or 6NL?

Yup, 6NH was removed (I swapped the H for an S). Can post a screenie if it helps.



Random thought: Could this be something in the way MY2014 cars are setup that was different to MY2013?

I believe so. I followed the 10 step how to modify FA pdf, and there is a verify step where you reload the car's FA. 6NS appears.

Ok, so if you wrote the modified VO to car, and then read FA and coded Head Unit, you should be alright.

You are VO Coding Head Unit though, and not FDL Coding it correct?

i got an error when i hit the SAVE button after changing a setting in the file. It said FAILED TO SIGN FDL ERROR [C158]

The car(F10) is on F010-12-07-533 and i am using 49.4 PSDZ data. Is this my issue?

I'm trying to run from within VMWare. I ran the E-Sys installer from the Mac share and now it appears this UNC (see below error message) is in a config file somewhere. I have all related data stored within the VM. Not using the share for anything.

Anyone know where this string is so that I can correct it? I'm striking out searching under E-Sys. Or should I just reinstall E-Sys running from the C: drive of the VM?
