Any way to set car to autolock?

There does not seem to be a setting in idrive to autolock the car after a certain time. I had this setting on another car and found it useful when I forget to lock my car like I did a couple days ago. Maybe a coding for this?

Leave your radio on, and when you park hit the stop button only once. As you walk away from the car you'll hear the radio, reminding you to lock it, which also shuts the radio off.

Or get a GM vehicle (they all have it and you can then get to enjoy the "double honk" annoyance I mean feature) I did see an option in the coding but it's for when the doors are not opened - FEM_BODY 3040 CLM_TIME_PIA_LOCK_AT_TIMEOUT 0C (120 s) User Value Time before it auto-locks the car when no doors have been opened. (10s units)

As I stated, it will not do what you want it to do - that is you park, shut off car, open door, get out, close door - then at some timeout it autolocks

Reference this thread of a couple on the subject:

Key words are: 'If no door has been opened'

You HAVE to open the door to get out

The line of code referenced by Jeffc83 sets the time to lock as long as no doors have been opened

Exactly; I suppose in the future, I would need to highlight, bold and enlarge the font in order for one to read the entire statement?

I know this may sound like a good feature but if it was implemented wouldn't it actually cause more problems? So for example if the driver got out but the car still had people in it it the car auto locked and turned on the alarm the alarm would be triggered. What about if you accidentally left the keys in the car etc.

The system would need a method of preventing that from happening, further adding to its complexity.

That refers to how long the doors will stay unlocked after being unlocked but not opened, previously explained. My assumption why that exists is if you inadvertently unlock the car when walking away from it, like ass dialing a phone.

It just seems like a muscle memory issue. Train yourself to lock or take advantage of a little OCD and fold mirrors to add visual confirmation.
