Switched Power in Interior Mirror/Light Area< pls?

Hello BMW Experts!

Has anyone found a positive wire suitable for a radar detector in the interior mirror/light area, pls? Switched would be preferable.

TIA! Murf

I should have mentioned it, there's no real need to mount the radar detector up by the mirror. Mounted on the dash works just as well, and then you can run the wire to the center console outlet, which turns on when you open the car, turns off five minutes or so after you lock it. I have both my radar detector and EZ Pass transducer on the dash, they work just as well as when they're sitting at the top of the windshield. I also painted the transponder black, so it's not so obvious, making it less of a target for thieves.

I would like my V1 to sit balanced on top of my central info screen, but haven't figured out how to secure it there. The wire would then go down somewhere.

The day I took delivery it was winter, so the sun was low in the sky, and it washed out the view on my screen. The next day I made a sun shade from ABS sheet, which bends easily with heat. That's where my radar and EZ Pass sit. The wire from the radar tucks into the seam between the trim and the dash.

Wow, those wires in the mirror neck are pretty small (grn/blk/grn/brn).
Billfitz, I guess you ran the wire from the info screen area down to the lighter? When the detector is removed, does the wire show? Do you remove the shelf?

I seldom remove the radar, only when parked overnight in a lot to deter thievery. I never remove the shelf, which isn't a shelf, it's a wrap around shield. This was taken before I went to a lighter color wood trim with vinyl wrap:
