How do I select Sport Mode (discreetly)

Is there a way to stop the central screen showing any changes to the drive mode. It broadcasts to all the occupants that the drive is about to get "interesting" and I'm always getting told off

I've tried the obvious. Leave all passengers behind, leave it in sport mode all the time but wondered if this was possible?

There is a setting you can change in the IDrive so it doesn't show.

i found the same rather annoying,
receiving some disapproving looks from my passengers (particularly the wife), as if they were about to be involved in some kind of 'fast and furious' street race,
not merely selecting a setting suited to the type of road

do you have a manual or auto gear box?
as the auto box will select sport auto when the selector moved to the right, and sport manual if a higher or lower gear is then manually selected.
with the gear setting only showing on the instrument cluster, not the main display screen.
a more stealthy sport mode

It was great at first as you could "show off" the modes, but it's at the point of embarrassing now and switched it off...

Thanks all. Should save on a few disapproving glances.
Mine's an auto and I find the throttle response better than selecting sport via the gearbox.

Reading this post about how to turn off that display has been a life saver. Every time I switch into sport mode I can see my wife grab hold of the door handle and the side of the seat as if I'm about to turn into a hooligan. When all I want is the car to be more responsive at a junction or roundabout. Now she has no idea. Fantastic.

It would be great if you could rename them as well, so Sport mode became Drift mode!

Yes time to switch mine off too. Had enough of the graphics and the moaning from the passenger seat as though I'm about to commit a crime.

My dad also questioned why I'd gone for a drive the other day as well. As though you shouldn't drive unless you've got a reason for being in the car.

The most interesting fact in this thread is not about disabling the sports display but that we all fear our wives. I'm glad I'm not alone... Group hug? Hehe.

I have now joined the stealth club.....

.... I also found that pressing and holding the mode switch will move directly between Eco pro and Sport, missing out comfort, making the change even more stealthy!

Whilst on the subject of the display, what you guys use as the default display? I kind of miss the default menu/desktop view of my E91 and wish there was similar on the F31.
