BMW F30 M335i/F32 M340i
Will fans be interested in F30/F32 //M-Performance variant with BMW 1M's N54B30TO engine??
The engine would slide right in the middle between the 335i and the M-car.. |

Only a proper mechanical LSD is missing. So I don't see any benefit in putting an 'old' N54 in a F30/32. Don't get me wrong I had a MY2007 335i E90 6MT with the N54. Superfast car stock. Cheers Robin |

I see the reason to have the N54 is because of the 335hp in the 1M compared to the 316hp in the M135i..
Alternative, is to tune the N55 to more than 340hp as a gap-filler between 335i/435i and M3/M4 |

+1 I dont see why they cant make 1m or m135i variants using the N55 powerplant. Its their software they can tune and tweak it to what ever the motor will allow physically if they please.

Exactly. The 1M has 340HP and the M135i 320HP (EU), 20HP difference IRL the M135i is just as fast as the 1M minus the bends(limited slip diff and more track focussed chassis) The N55 is pretty well capable of >400HP as well. So let's indeed move on with the N55. Cheers Robin |

I have a Z4 with a N54 and E92 335i with a N55. The N54 performs best at speeds driving 90-100 mph+, but as daily driver the N55 performs far better in all driving situations including taking it up to 145+ on the Autobahn.
