Analyze my 1/4 mile times?

Hi all,
So I picked up a Dragy to do some testing and finally got a couple 1/4 runs down.

Car mods:
  • JB4 on map 5
  • CTS Turbo Intake/FMIC/Charge Pipe
  • 3.5-7 gallons of e85
  • Stock run flats, stock downpipe

I'm still working on the launch as getting traction is a struggle. I've found brake boosting to about 2k in sport+ (sport automatic shifting) and massaging the throttle in 1st and 2nd gear gets me a 0-60 time between 4.88 - 4.92s pretty consistently (4 tries)

I changed the max boost in first gear to 12PSI on the JB4 as with it not set, it was very difficult to maintain traction.

I'm really enjoying learning how to launch and test the car out. I'm wondering what you'll think about my times, are they about where they should be considering my mods and conditions, I want to make sure I'm learning the correct way.

Pull 1:
  • 60ft: 2.24s @ 32.17
  • 330ft: 5.73s @ 69.86
  • 1/8: 8.55 @ 88.37
  • 1/4: 13.06 @ 107.22

Pull 2:
  • 60ft: 2.19s @ 32.16
  • 330ft: 5.70s @ 69.37
  • 1/8: 8.54 @ 88.37
  • 1/4: 13.09 @ 100.23

Thanks all!

Thanks all!

See if you can get a catted DP or catless. 107mph trap is pretty low for your mods and the fact that you have access to e85, you should be trapping around 110-111. Your launch could use a little work (1.9 60ft or 2.0)

Thanks chaungo! Exactly what I was looking for.

I've since installed a CATless DP and gone stage 2 on the MHD beta but my struggle with traction continues. My best 60ft on these run flats is a 2.13, I'm thinking it will greatly improve when I get some PSS's in the near future and the weather warms up a bit.

Is that 1.9-2.0 60ft realistic on run flats and RWD? Any thoughts on what a realistic 60ft would be on some better tires?

Thanks again!

My buddy managed a 1.9ft on runflats but luckily with low psi.

On nonrfts like pss I would easily expect 1.8ish

Tires, tires, tires. Runflats suck and are heavy for their size. Keep working on your 60 foot and times will drop! Have fun!

So I tried deflating the tires to about 22PSI and got lots more traction (didn't spin at all) but could not even break a 5 second 0-60...

Does the car do something when the tires are low? Cut power or something? I feel like between shifts it would cut power, something just didn't feel right. The car was hooking up like crazy but yea, multiple attempts, DSC on/off, sport+, comfort mode, didn't make a difference.

2.2s 60ft times are the problem. get those down and you'll see bigger gains at the end of the track.

when you dropped the PSI, what were the 60ft times? is the car bogging off the line now because it has too much traction? that'll kill your times.

So the car definitely does not let you have any fun when the TPMS detects low PSI.

The car would not stay in any mode but comfort, it wouldn't even allow me to go to Sports Plus, I tried DSC off and it even kicked me out of that mode.
