I've got new rdc valves (new system) from Lorcan for my wheels so I can leave the others on the current wheels. Do you have to do anything to sync the new ones to the car?

The reason I ask is my door sticker for my 335xd F31 has markedly different tyre & pressure info on it (note the first entry on my car that only has 225/45/18 95V XL M&S - and lower pressures Last edited by moonshine; 11-19-2014 at 12:55 PM.. |

I'm running a square run flat setup, F 2.8 and R 3.0 as advised for 225/45/RF18 (*) XL in the door card. Your tyres aren't listed, go flats and staggered rears etc. However, it seems M&S tyres want more air. About 0.2 bar by interpreting the card. However, I've no idea of the starting point for go flat tyres

Can anyone recommend the pressures for 225/45/18 non-RFT winters?

Different pressures again on 420D 2.2F 2.6R for winters 225/45/18 if Im reading it correctly. You have to be aware of the small symbols shown against the tyre sizes and car diagrams on the door sticker.

don't be paranoid about temperature. I drove my car in the winter (March) in Germany on winter tyres and it was 25C. and nothing happened. If you want to go on track day and play with your tyres changing them over back and forth every time the temp drops down below 7 and when it is over 10 it is up to you. The fact is the calendar winter is coming and I have changed them and the next 5 months I'm going to drive on winter tyres.

Plus the daytime figures may be higher but on my drive to work and back again the temps are currently about 8 degrees, possibly cooler.

^^^^ This.
just pick a dry day and put them on - they don't / won't fall apart above 7c - and how many miles will you do this week or next week? even if you do say 400, you might get 16-20k from the winters, so this is something like 2-2.5% of the tyre lifespan.... unless, as Piono said, tou plan to swap them each morning depending on the weather... I didn't even bother changing my wife's 120D winter tyres off from last year - she only does about 5k PA at the moment and they are absolutely fine |
