I would reckon the F31 335d will be along in about 3 months.

Dealer thought it would be later this year but no firm date. Fortunately I wanted the saloon anyway.

.....and hopefully a sdrive model too.........although I guessing this will never happen due to possible traction problems. Having said that, the 5 series has the same engine on RWD.

Really don't see an S Drive 335d model ....... especially given the 4 Series is only being released in XDrive for the 35d model.

I was seriously considering an F30 M3. But I do so love the torque and economy of a Diesel, that I am willing to go xDrive and get a 335d xDrive. May the good lord (NISFAN ) forgive me for this. The car will still be a mild threat to the M3. In fact, it looks excellent value as the M3 will easily exceed £60k with options.

Wash your mouth out with soap and beat yourself 50 times with a birch branch every morning for 20 moons for contemplating such a heinous, abominable, atrocious thought.

With every day (and post) I'm looking forward to seeing how truly awful the 335d's going to be

See Hartge are planning a 368bhp upgrade. Hmmm...

Stop fishing for compliments and being sarcastic, you naughty, naughty xDriver to be.

sDrive cars push, yours will pull and push. Wot fun and so much loping with that extra ride height. Be like riding a camel!

Take no notice of me, I'm an idealist. Bitter and twisted that BMW have done a U-turn and not offered 335d in it's proper BMW format.

.....even worse it's unlikely they will offer 435d in sDrive :. A sporty coupe made practical mad0259: like Jessica Ennis racing in stiletto's

I did some very spirited driving today (shocking at my age!) and I just loved the way my tail followed so beautifully. Put much needed lead in my pathetic pencil after so many barren years.
I must admit the car feels a tad slow for me now. I need more torque, more power. I need that extra shove. I'm sick in the head. I'm not well.

If it had been offered in S-drive, heart would have ruled practical head and I'd had gone for it. No question s-drive is way better handling car without question and I am partial to a bit of oversteer.

Suspect part of that desire for s-drive is fact Lotus is now going (had offer I couldn't refuse). Not sure how I'll get my oversteer fix now

I'll come clean. I am green with envy that you are getting a more powerful Diesel than I have. I hate you.

Yes but your's will always handle better. Quite looking forward to doing back to back with s-drive 330d once I've run it in (NISFAN - purely for sake of research? ).

Ha, and I will be test driving a 335d when available, also for the sake of research. Shame I wouldn't get away with an engine swap in the dealers car park

I can feel it in my waters and see it in my crystal ball(s) that NISFAN will have a made to measure 335d sDrive and will then up its torque and bhp to insane levels, install a Quaife LSD, etc., etc., thereby turning it into an F30 M3 killer.
