Yes, my local dealer is doing it, and yes it is a BMW kit, maintains warranty, etc.

Reserved power? Well 30hp 40Nm doesn't sound like a great deal No, but it is a BMW kit so will definitely be at least that (not like dodgy re-map companies that fall short of the claims), also the 40Nm is there from 1,500 - 4,000 rpm.....that makes a significant difference.

Main thing for me is the warranty is intact. The other thing about a BMW powerkit, is they play with throttle sensitivity, gear change maps, etc. so a more 'complete' solution.

Well keep us well up to date! The gear change and throttle response is already really quick in sport mode. So are you + VAT as well on that price?

Price £1200RRP Special price £950

Powerkit for cars without upgraded brakes (2NH or ZP1A)

Vehicles without upgraded Brakes as above, plus

· 3.0L variant models have their front axle brakes upgraded with a 4 piston fixed caliper and drilled and grooved disks.

Price £1600RRP Special price £1260

So for your car, as you don't have the blue brakes, or red, Yellow, Orange ones. You need the second option currently on offer at £1260 including VAT.

This gets you the engine powerkit, plus the M Performance calipers/Discs/Pads for the front axle.

Fitting at normal BMW rates is £469.80 including VAT

It's now as clear as a hot summers day in Greece. I thank thee.

Have you had the discussion with the insurance company to see how much they'll be charging for the mod?

I'm still debating the 330d ppk vs 335d xdrive dilemma. The 335d will be easier to insure but very keen to hear your thoughts on the results!

No insurance increase, seen as a BMW option rather than a modification

Obviously this is insurance company dependant so you need to ask your own insurer. This is consistent with the Prodrive kitted Sti I had before, Subaru fitted system so no increase (was with a different ins co back then too).

It's interesting how dealers quote more than double the time to install the powerkit than the estimated installation time mentioned in the product info document.

Contd from yestarday ........
So it would cost me approx £1730 in total. Now that's a touch expensive IMO.

Yes sounds not good VFM unless you wanted the brakes. Not sure how much the ECU/Intercooler/Brakes would sell for on ebay to recover some outlay?

Does anyone know if the PPK give a better throttle response in sport model or give anything more than simply the increased hp and torque?

Does anyone know if any dealers are offering the ppk for the 318d?
If not most likely go down the DTUK route.

I really adore this car so much that I could easily spend this on it. But I must, I must, be sensible or at this rate I can go bust.
