I just had it in my head that non-runflats would flex more and be better in snow, but I'm probably wrong.
So seeing as our purveyor of winter wheel / tyres is with us now I confirm I am up for a group buy of 18" style415 with Pirelli Sottozzeros. Anyone else? If not I'll just order direct. PS - My car when delivered will have 19" style 403m - If I just unbolt these and put the winters on is there any issue with tyre pressure sensors?

They look very easy to clean which is worth considering.

It appears that some of the posters on here are not fitting BMW approved tyres. (its a sad day I sound like my mother) but seriously though has anyone checked with their insurers if this invalidates the insurance its just the sort of wriggle out opportunity they are looking for! . For example the latest from my dealer is that they could fit Sotto Zero II tyres in 225/45/18 run flats on an 8J square set up no problem as that size of tyre is approved and marked with the BMW star on the tyre but they wont touch the same Sotto Zeros II for the 19" 403's front or back or the rears 255/40/18 of the 400M wheels because they are not approved by BMW. I am just wondering what the insurance companies would make of this if push came to shove. I have not checked with my insurer yet I wondered if anyone had?

Agree it may be different with the whole "BMW fitment" thing but to be honest I can't see that there would be a problem at all.

I speak from having a very bad experience relating to insurance and tyres, insurance companies will often look for a way to not pay out on a claim! |

Admiral have stated no issues with tyre choice, but different alloys - even if BMW OEMs - while not invalidating the insurance would not be covered for replacement if lost/damaged.
In other words, in Admiral's case you'd be best off getting the same style alloys as you ordered/received with the car if possible. |

(*) being the BMW approved bit
BMW approved for 8J wheels - Pirelli W210 Winter SottoZero Serie 2 Pirelli W 210 - 225/45 RF18 91H (*) RFT TL Not BMW approved 8.5J wheels - Pirelli W240 Winter SottoZero Serie 2 Pirelli W 240 - 255/40 RF18 94V XL RFT TL This is why my dealer refused to do me a set of tyres for my 403M wheels or a staggered set of 400M wheels as winters but he did say they would do a set of 4 fronts 8J's of the 400's I would have to +1 on what Defero said if its not in black and white its not real.

I've ordered a set of the 415's at £2,050, but I'm pretty concerned what they will look like on an M Sport. Does anyone have any pics? I could go for the M Sport 18"'s but they want nearly £2800 for these and they are also staggered I think so not going to be the best in the snow.. Hmm!

Buy a set of 400m on eBay (should set you back £1000 or so for some with just delivery miles) and then buy the winter tyres yourself (£650-700). A lot cheaper than going through a dealer...

Yes, wish I could do this but the car is a company order so I can only buy via the dealer. Car is not arriving until early next month, being built this week.

Dealer must be quoting you RRP prices. Have you asked to see if they have any 400m alloys/tyres from anyone who upgraded to the 20" performance wheels?
