Stefan4 you are probably right! I suppose those buying performance cars are more likely to be enthusiasts who will want to share information rather than simply drive the car.

Davy would be interesting to hear what JKC are offering....still waiting on call from Prentice about their deal and 'fantastic offers' on the 4 series!

I'm another potential 335d owner. I've a 330d lci e91 2011 bought from Prentice and am tempted to change best offer is 15% but a poor trade for my fully loaded e91.

Yes I was wondering the other day how many 335d's there are in the country. Its such a rare car and really an enthusiasts choice that agreed, most of the owners of 335d are probably on this forum!

Based on the fact there are around 5-6 owners on here already and about the same again waiting for delivery, I'd hazard a guess at there being less than 20-30 in the country at the moment.
There were just 2 for sale on BMW AUC the other day.

Proftinkerpot is your X3 the new or old model?

I was in JKC today, they are coming down with F30 330d, two in the showroom maybe pre reg and at least one demo. Place was pretty busy. Asked about a 335d demo, salesman had to go and check but they don't have one and no sign of having one. Guess they get you to drive a 330d and tell you its better

Purpose of my visit was to try out the new X5. Had a good 45 min drive in a 30d MSport. Lovely car to drive, much quieter and more refined than the e70. Said there was no discount until I said country garage have a deal on their website giving a couple of percent discount. Awaiting figures on a 40d on Monday that will no doubt make me fall over!

They may then lead into a 330d F31 discussion. I should tell him a cracking deal could get 3 or 4 orders.

Davyk31. I have a 2007 x3 so it's the older shape. J dealt with JKC before and had no issues. The X3 came in from England as a low miles secondhand buy. I am just getting trade in prices from a couple of the dealers which will probably determine who I deal with.

The low rate finance on new cars must be killing the stuff up to a year old as the new stuff would work out cheaper.

Yes the low finance and decent dealer/manufacturer contributions do often make ex demo and lightly used stuff now not make a lot of sense unless you are a cash buyer in which case they can offer good savings as you can push a pretty hard deal. Dealers however know some people assume a lightly used car represents the best value and automatically choose these without looking at new.

I think there is definitely mileage in that Andyers. If a dealer is getting 3 or 4 orders they should be breaking their necks for it even if they have made their targets. The way I see it is once you start buying off one dealer you are likely to stick with them when you change unless they really tick you off. Therefore its not just this sale but the potential repeat business every 3 or 4 years.

Where are all you NI guys located, that helps to determine which dealers suit best. I'm 5 mins away from JKC hence they are my preference.

Getting a deal that suits all 3 or 4 people best would be tricky especially if there are trade ins to factor in.

Davy I am in Newtownabbey but JKC is probably going to come out top for me based on their initial comments on trade in value for me. In terms of numbers on the new car I asked dealers to work on straight deals and then offer me a price for the trade in separately. That way I wasn't getting confusing offers of inflated trade in prices balanced with reduced discount.
Based on discussions, my view is that JKC then Country Garage were the most likely to deal.

Location no big problem for me, I will go wherever the best deal is...I am in Lisburn but would have no qualms dealing with JKC. Agree with you prof, get straight deal prices then we can all work out trade in values. Might be worthwhile drawing up a spreadsheet of what we want e.g. F30/31 and spec then benchmark with broadspeed for each spec, then fire onto all the dealers? I have done this already for my own situation, as I said Bavarian weren't even getting close to broadspeed!

Bavarian are possibly least likely to do deals as they are generally busy and well placed for all the Belfast trade. You may hot them at the end of a quarter when they need to move cars but less likely.

Smaller dealers like JKC and Country Garage I would think could be keen to deal if they need to move metal. I'm waiting on some numbers tomorrow on the new X5, that might push me down the 335d route if its too sky high for the X5.

I have asked for the same, straight sale price on the new car and a separate deal for my trade in. They may not like to do it that way as its too transparent for most dealers and they did say it lets them hide discount from BMW but there is no real reason not to do it this way.

Selling our used cars privately may also help deals. We should make eachother aware of what we are selling incase someone wants them or knows someone who does.

I have a 2008 X5 3.0SD M Sport - that's the twin turbo 35d engine. £13k worth of extras including the VERY rare adaptive drive that on its own cost £2500. Only 48k miles, full JKC service history. Completely immaculate and even described by the JKC salesman on Saturday as the cleanest 2008 car he has seen for a long time. Titanium silver with black leather.

Also probably selling my E92 335d Coupe. Equally immaculate to the X5, only 43k miles, again full BMW s/history and plenty of nice extras fitted. Montego blue with grey leather. Treated like a child, washed, polished and waxed by hand always.

If you know anyone in NI or beyond looking for great cars they might help my new X5 fund!!

Davy both Country Garage and JKC were more than happy to give me the new car figures and deal with the vakue of the trade in separately. Sounds like you have 2 lovely cars sir. JKC were well ahead in terms of what they were suggesting as a likely trade in value. I have planned to borrow the 330d x drive from jkc on 22 november for the day so will be ready to move pretty much anytime after that.
I reckon if jkc were getting orders guaranteed from Andyers, you and I then we should be able to get them to throw in the service pack and perhaps another option like adaptive suspension. I was also thinking about seing if they would Supagard the car. My X3 has it and its very good.

Davyk31, I would have been in JKC's at that time also. Family members have been dealing with them for about 20years so I was in to see what deals they can do for me.

I also test drove the 330d xdrive ex-demo car and really liked it.

As for the discount it was almost none existent apart from the usual dealer contribution. Although i'm hoping they're will be some serious negotiations taking place this week.

I had intended to trade in my wife's Mini [also bought from JKC] against the new car but the value they put on it was ridiculously low [worst out of JKC, Bavarian and Country Garages]. They also started moving the figures from the dealer contribution to cover the gap between what they valued the Mini at and the amount outstanding on the PCP, supposedly standard practice but keep an eye out for this.

What discount are you guys getting at the minute?

The group buy idea is good one.

They should be giving you a pretty mega discount on the 330d! Many on here are reporting 15% plus. Start with the figure on the BMW site and then build from there. Kinda think JKC like to talk up the value of your trade in rather than talk discount as most people want to hear their old car is worth more cash.

What time were you in JKC, I was there about 11.45 to 13.30

Proftinkerpot how do they suggest working with the fall in value of your trade in during the time you wait for the new car to be built - are they projecting forward or asking for your car now?

Yes, I got the feeling that they are willing to discount the 330d more. I'm all set to get a 320d if they talk sensibly about the value of the trade in and offer some serious discount [12-15%] but if changing to the 330d means the numbers get smaller i'd be delighted.

I was in around the same time, Where you in the black X5? I think it was reversed in by the door as I was coming out for the test drive.

Just a thought, we should get a NI section setup for all the NI members as they're seem to be a good few on here.

Davy they were going to honour the price until the car was ready for collection in January.

F30_msport An NI members section is a great idea. I have only been registered here a few days but have already come across 3 or 4 local people. If you havent already done so play with the configurator on the website and watch for the changes in APRs and dealer contributions on different variants. I am after a touring and the APR is 4.9 on all except the 335d which is now down to 3.9%.

Andyers - Same position as you fancied the 4 series but the difference in price between the 3 and 4 series (same spec) is massive with the low finance and BMW contributions available on the 3 series- too big for me to justify. Both the 3 and 4 in M sport spec are stunning cars in their own way and I thing in X drive the 3 series looks better as it carries off the looks with the higher ride height better than the coupe so took the plunge yesterday for a 335d drive. No regrets!
