Just shows the difference that xDrive makes to the MPG. Did a similar trip with three up, a rammed full boot, no eco pro at all and got 52MPG with my 330d.

A roads are usually worse on mpg as speed is not as constant as the motorway.

I got 46mpg over 30 miles with a mix of Motorway at 75mph and town driving, including traffic jams.... |

I get > 40 mpg on an urban commute out of mine. Easily see 45 mpg in mixed (fair bit using plenty of throttle) runs. Seen 48 mpg on a 1.5hr motorway cruise (not an economy run).

My 330d feels like a totally different car after 5000 miles. Everything is looser and slicker. Felt very tight to begin with and revving it felt unwilling. I don't have any comparable MPG stats and now I'm driving it like a lunatic (whereas before I was being more cautious), it is probably worse if anything. Like for like, it's probably better though (given the general loosening).
