@shawnsheridan & Rossifumi
Thanks for clearing that up. I do not have the new iDrive. My car was built first week of august of 2012, from what I have read now 3-Series sedans built in November 2012 + will get the new one and 3-Series Touring from July 2012. |

Really unbelievable that this new Nav system is not available NOW for the 6 series. I mean the 6er is one of the BMW flagships, but according to the roll out schedule the 6er does not get it until March build. I was ready to put my order in until I saw this. Absolutely no logic to their schedule. New system should start at top of model range and work down with 1 series getting it last. So much for German logic. Don't want to wait that long but will not take a outdated system in a $80K car. Pissed off.

Just want to confirm:
1. How do you check when your car was built? 2. The new nav cannot be software upgraded because there is a new hardware upgrade as well. Thanks. |

So here's my question:
I'm 90 days out (as of today) from lease end. I spoke to two dealers today who were unaware of the iDrive upgrade. I realize if I place my order today, I won't be getting the new hardware/software. So my question is, WHEN do you think I can fill a build slot to ensure I will get the new gear? End of October?? Or should I play it really safe and wait to order until the end of November? Seems I will have to extent my current lease by a couple of months to accommodate this, but I feel it is worth it. |

The dealer I got it my M Sport from said they had no clue about the new idrive but honestly I think they (and other dealers) are playing possum on this because they want you to buy a car from their lot that day. That's expected I suppose. Same reason I think BMW is keeping somewhat quiet on the exact date the changes start. (Because then more people would not buy a BMW today! ) But it's often I come into the dealer and know more about the product they're selling, so I guess thats possible too. So my advice would be to finalize the deal with your CA (you have plenty of time to shop around) and as soon as someone on here posts their bmwvin info with the new iDrive and creams themselves that would be the time to put your order in. Personally I don't trust ordering now and telling them to do it only when the new iDrive production starts. Mistakes can be made.

Thanks for thee reply! Good advice.
Now I'm just waiting on anything "official" as to when the upgrade will be put into production. Only info I can find links back to Bimmerpost. Where does Bimmerpost get their info? |

Is there anyway to order the F30 ensuring you get the new navigation system, while also taking advantage of the Drive For Team USA $1000 discount and owner loyalty discount of $750, both of which are expiring on October 31st?

https://www.press.bmwgroup.com/press...tem=node__2229 Three points: 1) The day/month is in UK format; the press release is dated September 3rd (and not the 9th of March). 2) The press release indicates that the new navigation system will become available in "Autumn" for the F30. Autumn in the northern hemisphere begins September 22nd and ends December 21st, which seems to leave open the possibility of a late November or early December switchover. 3) Although this is a "global" press release, there's nothing to prevent BMW from having region-specific differences in their rollout schedule. (In other words, this doesn't guarantee that US or Canada-bound cars will comply with the indicated schedule.) |

ALl I know is I hope the US cars dont' get it until 2014. as I still see it as a slap in the face to me specifically for them to add it right after I get my car.

In another thread I posted some evidence that perhaps the North American 3-series sedan is in fact getting the upgrade:

Yeah that was me. My CA emailed me about something else, so I'll ask him if he's heard any updates. He is a very senior CA, and always knows about the stuff we talk about here, and often even more details.

Looking forward to resolution ...
I ordered an F30 M sport for an October production run, but canceled the following day when I read this post. Looking forward to resolution on this so I can move forward with my order!

I just got confirmation today from Sterling BMW in Orange County that week 45 and on 335s will have the new nav. US Spec cars. Sorry I assume this is for 3 series in general, but we were speaking directly to a 335 when I got confirmation.

Thanks Jimi. Your CA must have got a bulletin of some sort confirming this. Any chance you could ask them to send to you? You would be helping resolve a LOT of debating going on online.
