The US will get a 328d from what I have seen. This will probably be the same N47D20 2,0 L 218hp Engine we have as 25d here in Europe.

Check these recent spypics of an US spec 328d F30 near the BMW plant Steyr in Austria (where the diesel engines are made):

Really beautiful wagon, IMO it looks best in black with M Sport package. From behind it is very similar to a 5:er Touring but smaller!

Audi A4 Avant has already lost a few battles when magazines tested it against F31, not surprising. The best middle class wagon, pricey though as all Bimmers...

Our last 2 BMW's were 3 series wagons, great cars, both manuals. I am hoping for a diesel, especially the one from the 335d in a wagon here in America.

Been to our dealer, BMW Patrick Smets - Lier, today and they had a Saphire Black BMW 320D Touring (F31) M-sport in the showroom. The looks and design of this car were even more sleek and appealing in real life than I've seen on any pic. Also saw an imperial blue one and was surprised about the color being so vibrant and sparkling. Promise more and better pictures when mine arrives ;-)

Therein lies the reason why BMW struggles to bring a full range of the touring line to the US - perceptions as to what wagons are and should be in the US versus Europe and other places. Outside the US many consider the Touring or Avant, in Audi's case, to be a sporting alternate rather than just a utilitarian vehicle - eg, the next RS4 comes in Avant only; no sedan.

To my eye this looks great, and a 330d M Sport in Tanzanite blue with Individual Cashmere interior, adaptive m suspension may be my next car!

Very nice wagon. I was pretty set on purchasing this as my next vehicle, but was not very impressed with the new 4 cylinder nor the high price for what you get. The deletion of the manual transmission in the US-spec 328xi pretty much sealed it for me, and I bought a '13 Subaru Outback 3.6R instead. Handles very well, plenty of space, 6-cyl power, and MUCH less expensive.
