New F30: Which one is better: Anthracite Wood Trim or Bushed Aluminum Trim

I have ordered 2013 328 x drive sportsline. I got the default build for interiors as Anthracite trim. I actually wanted Brushed Aluminum. Contacted my CA and he told me it is too late to do anything as my car is already in build.
So my Question to you guys:
Is it possible to change the trim to Brushed Aluminum after my car gets delivered?

In your opionion which trim goes well with Black leather seats and red highlight?

I have not seen both (Brushed Aluminum/ Anthracite wood trim) of these in person but saw them only in pictures in config manager online on BMW website.

I am confused at your title because it says headliner but I think you are actually referring to the Anthracite wood trim? If so I can tell you that the Anthracite wood trim with aluminum accents looks amazing in person.

I am still sad I couldn't get that wood trim in the M Sport line and instead had to go with the older looking Burl Walnut.

Thanks webdither! Edited the title to read Anthracite Wood Trim!

Can anyone post few pics of different trims on new F30 Sports with Black Dakota Leather Seats and Red stitching?

I am particularly interested in

1)High Gloss Black Trim
2)Anthracite Wood Trim
3)Brushed Aluminum Trim

Thanks!!

Yes, it's possible to change over the trim, providing your dealer can find a donor car for the aluminum.
However, having owned 3 different E9X models with both wood and aluminum trim, I found the wood trim much more durable. The aluminum dented and scratched easily.
Several forum members have commented on the annoying glare from the F30 dash with aluminum trim, while others have stated glare is not a problem.

I would suggest that you not rush to exchange the wood trim until you have seen it in the flesh.

Its "softer" looking in real life. Camera flash not giving a true idea of how subtle it looks. Its very rich looking.

Any scratches on the Aluminium trim is obvious... so might not be a good idea... if you hated the wood that much, black interior goes quite well with Carbon Fibre M-performance interior trims

I saw (and felt) the M Performance trim with Black leather / red stitching at a local dealership. It's really nice looking but I found the embroidered "M Performance" lettering to be a bit sloppy looking.

If you have ever owned a piano black TV then you know how easily that can scratch! I'd hope the BMW piano black trim is more scratch resistant than that but I wouldn't want to risk it

Unless you just hate wood trim I can say you will not be dissapointed with the Antracite Wood Trim. IMHO it's the best looking trim available!

My 328i mSport, which is currently on order (arriving ~Nov), was not available with Anthracite wood trim - and that is what I really wanted. I ordered it with Aluminum Hexagon interior trim with high-gloss black accent (from what I understand this is only available on m sport models). Want to make a deal?

You should try and go look at the trims in person to get the best idea of what they look like.

I think the anthracite looks the best though, especially if you're going with an interior color other than black.

Saddle is quite different than your interior, but just focus on how it matches the dash.

I personally like the brushed aluminum with the sportline. If I were going to take the trouble to change it after the fact, I would get the M Performance parts. I'm guessing you can resell the anthracite parts on eBay...

I wish mine had the anthracite wood trim. I have the black gloss and every single spec of dust shows up, and fingerprints are really visible too. I might be getting old, but I like the warmth of wood trim too.

Such a nice looking interior. It's a shame you can only get it on the luxury line.

Thanks. I was going to buy an M-Sport but couldn't live with the interior choices there, so decided to go with a Sport instead but couldn't live with the interior choices there either, so decided to go with a Luxury instead.

The good news is that with all the $ I was going to spend on the M-Sport, I just dumped it into the Luxury and wound up with a boatload of options, lost a bit of tightness in the curves, but am very happy overall.

I wish my car had the darker wood. The walnut is nice, don't get me wrong, but darker would be nice.

In the Saddle interior, the grey wood blends into the black dashwork whereas the walnut becomes a 4th color, a bit too much.

Anthracite on black looks sharp.

Personally, I think red highlights that Aluminum will look better.

Wait do you mean having the red stripe? If not then get wood, if yes get metal.

I personally have the black seats/red stitching, brushed aluminum, with the red stripe on a red car. May be biased but I quite like it. Not a fan of the wood grain look in a sports car personally (maybe if I had gotten a 7 series over a sports 3 series..)

I probably shouldn't admit it, but I walked on the lot thinking I'd want the black one with saddle interior, but once I saw the saddle interior in person I shut the door and said no thanks, next.

For a moment there I thought I was the only one who thought it seems "SLOPPY"...

They shoulda just put the words on a brushed alu plate and CF the whole panel.
