The more I drive it the more amazed I am! Really is a very accomplished car - effortlessly blending luxury and a smooth ride with, quite frankly, scary performance should the mood take you!
I took it out on some country roads today and used the sport mode for the auto gear shifts coupled with 'sport' driving mode. I also discovered the full kick-down function on the accelerator (floor it until you feel resistance, then push a little further past the resistance point). This turned the car into a complete tyre shredding machine!! The TC light was flickering like nobody's business each time I floored it.... |

400 mile round trip
Did a 400 mile round trip to Henley yesterday with a colleague and the car loaded down with cameras and lighting rig, through sunshine and very heavy showers and the car performed very faultlessly.
Particularly enjoyed the A43 from the M1 to the M40 (past Silverstone) - it handled like it was on rails! Lots of admiring glances at the motorway services too.

Whats your thoughts guys.
Current lease E60 going back tomorrow. F30 not expected until december. Do I: 1) Rent something new, small golf £400.00 per month. 2) Buy an old 7 series or S class for £600 to a£1000 with 6 months to a years MOT on it ? Then try and sell it with minmum loss.

Update
Just a quick update for E60 330d owners making the switch to the F30 330d, now that I've had the car for a week.
First of all the better economy has not yet materialised - I'm only getting an average 2mpg more so far - that is in Comfort mode, so might need to try the economy setting. Also build quality - in most respects the car is as well put together as the E60, but it does feel like a lighter car, not flimsy, but you do notice when you shut a door, not quite the same reassuring clunk. But don't panic - it is still head and shoulders above other marques.

that's because there is a shortage of the 3 litre d units at the moment, and with deliveries to customers being delayed BMW dealers are reluctant to hold them as demonstrators. My dealer told me I was very lucky to get one this early as I ordered way back in July.
