Just had it installed and now no DAB signal. Had the rear camera mounted off centre and ferrite clamps fitted but no luck. As DAB is all i can use to get the stations i like i might just take out the rear camera. Not too pleased to be honest.
Apart form DAB seems a nice set up.

An official installer from Chameleon. He did say there are issues with DAB and he would do his best.
Morning appointment and he turned up at 2 pm, no call or anything. I called Chameleon to check i had the date correct Just finished so i could go to work.

Exactly what I'm afraid of. I love my DAB so I don't think it would be wise to have one or the other.

It's the power supplies I think. I have the same problem with the more powerful iPhone chargers.

Which live did he use?
I don't have any DAB issues with my rear camera. F750. I sure the guy who installed mine said that there I a permanent live somewhere in the passenger foot well that not many installers know about. Then he ran the wires along the inner sill.

Did he run the cable via headlining or through the door sills and carpets ??

He said he did.

I unplugged the rear camera today and DAB up and running.

I spoke to Chameleon today and they are going to try and sort it out. They'll be sending a guy over this or next week. Hes going to bring some new cables, ferrite clamps and check out how and where it was wired last time.

I also had a warning message . ''increased battery discharge when stationary'' and a triangle on the layout. I hope its one that goes away after a few days.
Cameleon were very good on the phone and i feel confident they will do there best. Excellent customer service from James. Will update after visit.

Was just wondering if you managed to get your thinkware front and rear dash cam fitted and kept the dab radio working if so what did they do when they came back to fix it.

Cheers Kenny

Hi Chris, could you elaborate on the 'signal protector blocks'? I have a DAB issue that might be solved if I knew what these were and where to get them!

Thanks

You just need ferrite cores like these:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clip-on-Fe...0AAOSwIgNXtC-Q

I fitted a few on my F30, no DAB issues.

I had the rear cam taken out. Even when the wire was coiled up in the boot if affected the DAB. So 3rd visit had it removed. They tried ferrite cores but still interfered. Just when you thought every things good i'd lose the signal. They scratched the car and went to BMW for repair for 3 days and just got it back. I'm still waiting for Chameleon to get back to me about compensation. I know Chris had a good install but its been a nightmare for me. Camera still plays up now and then.

To be fair, the DAB signal still drops outside of the M25 the majority of the time, even with the coils. Half debating just unplugging the rear, but knowing my luck, as soon as I've done it I'll have needed it working!

I have finally had a call from Cameleon. They have agreed to pay for the scratch to be repaired and that's all. This has taken them 6 weeks!

They will not compensate for the 1 afternoon and 2 mornings i had to take off work. Pay for fuel to drive to bmw on another 2 mornings or even refund me for the rear camera that they have taken. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. ABSOLUTE RIP OFF. I will be taking them to small claims court. Sorry to rant Chris but they are a joke.

Just ordered a F770 with a Cellink B battery so I can utilise the parking mode without zapping the battery.
