MY 2015 changes?
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might change on the 4 and 4GC this summer. Tricky one this as they are both new and the GC will very new.
I have a five but am thinking of switching back to a four. Every time I have had a new car it was for September 1st but and frustratingly that has also meant I got a build slot earlier in the summer and consequently took delivery of a un-updated car. I am determined not to do that this year but wonder if for the first time it will not matter as there will genuinely be no differences. Fundamentally the car will still be great i know that but there are often big changes that make a difference. Last time for example I missed the RTTI update on the nav by one week. Some things that are missing on these cars do make me wonder about BMWs tech value position. I am disappointed for example that the lights aren't LED, and why on earth is there no city braking option. No scratch that why is City braking not standard. It is on a golf GTi here, and £1650 for LED headlights, really, they too are standard on a Seat Leon (look it up), the iPhone integration is still appalling, why no Siri and why does there continue to be a hefty charge for USB phone control which admittedly gets you voice control which I have in my five but is generally so rubbish I don't use it though it can be entertaining sometimes with its terrible pronunciation of names and places. I hope there are some updates that these cars are getting that makes my planned 1-2 month deferral worth it but any advance knowledge would be useful. |

LEDs are available on the 4 Series - but don't count on them to be standard anytime soon. City Braking? Is available on the 4 Series - option 5AS Siri? Just keep the voice control button pushed, it turns over to Siri. |

I bet it will come standard on all Civics, Accords, and Camrys...but optional and requiring a specific option package to get it on the BMW.

I think the MSport Plus pack will come in like with other models.
I think with this pack LED lights are just £800 and £500 on some models. Total is around £3k for the 19 wheels, LEDs, HK audio, sun glass and MSport brakes? Surely the GC is too new for any changes?

Does anyone know when BMW has historically unveiled the changes for the upcoming model year?
I believe last year that they announced MY '14 changes in October of '13, several months after production began... Is this kept under wraps in an effort to push out the remaining inventory? |
