Why are you guys paying so much to have someone do this? It's not hard to do and there's plenty of references on this board for how to get setup. First thing I did after getting my car. If anyone wants to visit me about an hour north of Boston, I'll code for beer |

Igor, are you guys saying that even if my car does not have the Comfort Access where the seat goes back for easy entrance, you can code the features.?

Total rip-off. Buy a cable, an ESys token and do it yourself. Everything you need to learn to code your car is on this (and other) forums.

210 pages! It would be great if someone could summarize it for latest MY13 and MY14 models. |

There are other settings that have been discovered, but they either aren't things people want, have unwanted side effects, or don't always do anything. |

I looked into coding our f30 myself but after reading through all the technical stuff, pricing the necessary cable, and thinking about the possibility of turning the car into a brick, I decided to have it
In the WashDC area. DC metro coding This forum software will not allow me to insert a URL ???? Website has options and prices. Two other items I had changed: IDrive shows individual tire pressure and temp, and the fog lights come on when unlocking the doors with the fob. Handy for dark nights.

=> Every time the dealer reprograms your car, you will have to pay again. It's likely you will have the car upgraded three or four times during the warranty. I am on my fourth update in the first year. => It's just not that hard to do. Go to the DIY forum, follow the very simple instructions from svache. I'm no expert, but I can code the stuff I like in 15 minutes. => Why trust your car to someone clearly trying to fleece you when there's an incredibly supportive community here who has helped people with the most geeky issues? Bottom line, doing this yourself is safer, more enlightening and just plain more fun than having some dude you don't know hit you up for $150.

I like the way you went about it, just a simple list of most used options. Can you re-post or a copy a link to page that has a concise list of instructions that would be easy to follow for people who have not done it before? Last edited by 328AL; 09-13-2013 at 07:31 PM.. Reason: instructions |

Would you point people like myself, who has no clue how to do it, to a specific page(s). I just can't bring myself to reading 210 pages in one thread along, sorry. |

Everything you really need is in the first post of the thread. To be honest, if that's not accessible enough for you, then you maybe shouldn't be coding your own car. It does require some attention to detail and willingness to RTFM. If that's not your thing, well, I guess I understand paying someone then.

However, it sounds like it's all the same and has not changed from a year ago, I'll go through it. |

Remember that once you are in a thread you can then search within that thread only. I'd start with "MY14". |

Also, I am not a computer software programmer or anything and I tried reading through the instructions and I stopped when I started reading about soldering cables and rapid sharing files, etc. I personally would rather pay someone $60-$130 to get this done than spend all this time trying to figure it out (at least with my background). People here drop a lot of money on a lot of things that I'm sure have high profit margins. How much can those painted amber reflector replacements cost to make? |
