Who has a tune/downpipe?

**********s has had the BMS Stage 1 tune and Evolution Raceworks downpipe for sale for a while now. Someone has to be running it. I can't find a sound clip anywhere of the N20 with a downpipe installed. If any of you guys are tuned or running a downpipe it'd be great to hear some feedback. Personally I'm waiting on the DP fix and ordering everything at once

Anyone catch the Evolution Racewerks article in European Car Magazine? It's over on EAS' blog right now and shows a dyno comparison of stock, BMS stage 1, BMS + Downpipe, & BMS + DP + Intake. See the full article here -> http://www.europeanautosource.com/co...s-f30-328i-eas

I've got intake and downpipe but would love the BMS to come out of the "Beta" phase before purchasing. Something about purchasing engine management in Beta makes me paranoid, haha. Might get impatient and pull the trigger though, will post up if I do!

You have an N26 downpipe? I installed the BMS stage 1 and they said to just leave the connector for the wastegate solenoid unplugged since the N26 no longer uses it. I haven't had a chance to dyno yet

The N26 has an electrical wastegate instead of mechanical, this could be the reason.

Are you running BMS Stage 1 + Downpipe on the N26?

Yeah I know, I spoke with them and was told to just leave it unplugged. I only have the tune, waiting on the downpipe for the N26 to come out. I also had an AFE intake but could not get it to work, it kept throwing a lean fault. Waiting to hear back from AFE

Hmm, was the vacuum line plugged or returned back to the intake?

ER should be able to provide you with a downpipe shortly, unless you are looking to go AFE. Don't know what their progress is at the moment.

By putting in the downpipe, would I void the BMW warranty?

you get a CEL that must be cleared, I wouldn't get an oil change with it but legally BMW would have to prove that the downpipe caused the problem... probably harder for you to prove that it didn't than for them to claim it did.

When I first got the car no one knew about the N26 yet. I installed the intake and realized there was an extra vacuum line. At the time AFE and myself were unaware of the N26. They had no advice so I just left it open since it was before the MAF anyway. It set a lean fault so I plugged it and cleared it, only to have it return. I went back to stock and luckily AFE got their hands on an N26 and came up with a new intake tube that had the fitting for the line. Unfortunately for whatever reason the car is still throwing a lean fault. I cleared it again and went back to stock(minus the charcoal filter lol) As of right now I'm just waiting to hear back from AFE for a possible solution. I have no idea how a line that's BEFORE the MAF is causing so much drama but atleast it's easy enough to take in and out while I'm being the test mule.

Remote test mule is never easy, luckily I have had no problems yet. Best of luck sorting this out!

Reading the EAS article. With the downpipe in place, is it possible to tune the ECU further (technically a stage 2 now)?

The BMS tune will work but the downpipe is different

I tried reading the article, but my eyes are getting bad or something because everything is small and I can not read the dyno results.

Can anyone summarize the results please?

Also, does ER plan on making a intake or intercooler for the 335?

I purchased an ER downpipe for my 328xi N20 and I just tried to have it installed at a performance shop today. They called me back and said that the new downpipe was 2mm too big and would require another 2 1/2 hours of labor to machine it back down to the exact OEM size. I told them to put the old one back in it for now until I contact ER. They've been working with the performance shop to figure out what went on, but I'm not exactly too happy as I now have an incorrectly sized downpipe and am out the money for 2 hours of labor.

I had the same problem with mine (bought from ER too), the final section was larger than the stock exhaust tube, so we had to cut this part of the DP and place a right sized one that would fit. It was a 30 minutes job, but a PITA to do, as it was already placed on the turbine side and we had to take it off.
But the final result is very good!
