N55 Broken Charge Pipe Symptoms
Hey guys, wanted some insight on this; I was driving on the highway at around 2am, it was empty so i decided to have some fun and go against a AMG GLE. Fast foward a little i feel a huge thud and Lost power like crazy. Luckily my exit was to my right so I got off.
CEL’s and a Transmission Malfunction indicator had popped up so I shit myself; managed to limp home and spent a good minute trying to figure out what happened, found that my cp had blown. I was wondering if the blown CP has anything to do with the Transmission Malfunctioning; probably does but im just too worried lol. Wanted to know what symptoms yall experienced in ur own experience with a blown cp. Thanks for reading! (first post on this forum site so sorry if i made any mistakes lol) |

There is a vacuum line that goes from the chargepipe to the transmission, so that could be the cause, might want to pull codes to be sure but my guess would be it’s related to the charge pipe

That’s probably your best bet, I’d bet after putting a new chargepipe on and clearing the codes they wouldn’t come back, unless you just had really bad luck and something unrelated went wrong. Be prepared for a weird idle for a bit as the control unit has adjusted fueling to account for no boost, normally letting they idle for a bit will let it readjust, that was something I didn’t know to expect when my replacement pipe slipped off the throttle body the day after I installed it and gave similar conditions
