Lightning to Ethernet Adapter Issues with MHD Flashing
Hello,
I have an issue I cannot seem to solve, and I do not want to keep pouring money into this. I have tried researching this issue, but it seems like no one has encountered it. I am trying to flash my F30 using MHD tuning, an Ethernet to OBDII cable, and a lightning to Ethernet adapter. Originally, I had used a lightning to USB adapter, with a generic Ethernet to USB adapter plugged into that. However, after it connects successfully, it will randomly disconnect from my iPhone 11. If I go to the settings, I can see the adapter disconnecting and connecting rapidly. Naturally, I suspected that I had a bad adapter, so I ordered a Lightning to Ethernet adapter on Amazon, very generic. However, despite it reading the IP address successfully, the MHD tuning APP does not want to recognize the cable. Things to keep in mind: [*] The Ethernet to OBDII cable is perfectly fine. I can code with it using Esys without an issue. [*] I am running IOS 16 on an iPhone 11 [*] I would prefer not to get the WiFi adapter because it is expensive. Also, I will not be flashing all the time [*] Like stated previously, the IP address is obtained successfully when viewing the adapter in the settings. [*] I have followed MHD Tuning's instructions to a TEE, yet I cannot successfully get the app to recognize my cable. Has anyone ran into this issue or have any ideas? |

Ethernet Private IP address is turned off?
Is your Lightning-to-Ethernet adapter Apple MFI-certified? And your working ENet-to-OBDII cable is also MFI? |

My understanding is MHD recently made changes that dont allow you to flash using USB type connections (can't use DCAN adapters i guess), maybe the lighting falls into that category? I think they are moving away from all wired solutions unless it is direct ENET into the wifi adapter. I used to use the bimecu wired option to flash for many years, recently transitioned to the wifi adapter.
You probably dont want to hear it, but i would just get the WiFi adapter. It's 80$. Return the other stuff you bought and go that route. Frankly i wouldnt try to flash with any kind of amazon adapter anyways, seems risky. |

Yep. Black WiFi adapter speed is great - and great value IMO. I’ve only ever had 3min flashes or less. I still run my flashes while on a charger though… but seems overkill for 3 mins…
