When i drove mine home it was nice sound. I went for a drive now and i was like "is this diesel?" sounds ugly even after doing for a spirited drive.

I also noticed that at low speed after starting the engine, every time i lift my foot off the gas pedal, there is a "ssssss" noise coming from the engine or exhaust, it gets annoying as everytime i touch the gas pedal this noise comes out. this noise goes away when i switch to sport mode though. anyone else noticed this and know where the noise is coming from?

Look on the bright side, the poor chaps with diesels have to put up with this dreadful noise all the time (and it is louder!)

That's the turbo and I find it to be such an awesome sound! I feel like a little giggly kid every time I hear it

I'm sure glad I came across this thread. The first time I started my car in the garage I jumped out and looked under it to see if the exhaust was properly attached! Sounds terrible.

yea but it only sounds like a proper turbo wastegate in sports mode. the sound i am talking about is only in the comfort and eco-pro mode, it happens with even slightest touch on the gas pedal. and it sounds more of like a rapid "click click click..." sound. i can be wrong since i never owned any turbo cars before, but in sports mode this sound goes away and i can hear the proper turbo valve sound.

Hmm... Interesting I've never heard this "clicking" noise you talking about. The F30 I'm driving always sounds decent (turbo) no matter what mode I'm in.
