I had to wire them into the electric window switches, because i originally wired them in to the led module wiring, but they made the ambient lights flash and then cut out, not sure why?, but so far no issue with the window switches, they even dim with the dashboard light dimmer control.
Looks great! Could you share the link of the strip? Thanks!!

Hi guys

Here is the link to the similar ones I bought, they have a 4mm fin which pushes into the trim...
I will try and post some "how to do" images soon...

There are other sellers who have them cheaper so shop around... Just make sure they have that fin.. As there are options out there with no fin, as I found out to my annoyance..

The pictures don't show it too well, but they are the identical colour to the dash/trim lights..

I had the exact same thought actually.. I am going to call my dealership and at least ask, as the car is going in on Wednesday as is for a recall issue.

This isnt the worst idea, at my car they first made a software update (whatever) and after this hadnt help, a complete change of the interior trim lines was considered...unfortunately I'd coded the function to set the light brightness seperately adjustable from the instrument light and the dealer told me what? Right, this was caused by coding, warranty declined.
So be warned, if ya got this also enabled

so good news for me at this point and I thought good to share. I have the car in at the dealership for a recall, and she is also still under warranty. I talked with them about the doors and then compared against another (new) model sitting there. They agreed something is definitely wrong and ordered a new light control module. (I don't have the part number yet for reference) I should have her back today and I am eager to see the difference! The 2017 330 loaner I have has the same black interior and the difference is huuuuuuuuuuge! The amber lighting down the doors is very bright and looks great.

If yall are still under warranty, I would push your dealership to step up and fix it.

Can we get an update on this with a possible photo? Did they go ahead and replace it with the newer light control module or just replace it with a new(old) version?

Is it brighter? Thanks.I'm going in for service soon and wouldnt mind trying to get this replaced

they replaced the LED module with the new one when I compared part numbers. the good news is that it is much brighter than the originals but maybe 2/3rds As bright as the 2017 loaner I had.

I believe they have changed the design. The LCI center dash retrofit I did has LED lights light every inch, instead of one very bright led and light conducting plastic channel. Looking at the 2017, it looks like they did the same in the doors, a series of lights rather than one single emmiter.

I am wondering now it is is possible to retrofit the new light channel into the doors and take out the older design.

That's one of them. There are at least four different versions, the oldest being used since 2011 to present. 967 first appears as a 2014 part, but there seems no rhyme or reason as to which of the various versions might be in any car made since 2014, made more confusing as they're all interchangeable. There doesn't seem to be any way of determining the relative brightness of them all either.

Nice, definitely an improvement as I wouldnt mind having it 2/3 as bright as a 2017 rather than the 1/4 brightness that I have now.

So how should I bring this up? Just tell them that I got a loaner recently and noticed the ambient lighting is way brighter than mine as if something was wrong and see if they can replace it with the new module? Or should I not even mention a "new" module and just ask if they can check why it's not bright at all?

That is exactly what I did.. my dealership screwed around with the light control module and who knows what before they replaced the LEDs like I asked for in the first place.

Dealer refused to replaced led modules under warranty. Bought parts for 25$ a piece and 1 hour work to replace all led modules. About 60% brighter
