I am not a dealer rep or a person on the "inside" but do understand how a lot of this works, which is why I was trying to give an explanation to why "I heard mileage will be waived if you lease another car with them?" statement was not really true (but could happen in some cases). |

Now it depends on the buyout price from your current vehicle (to the dealer) vs what its current value is (not its RV), and some other factors.... but if I were you I would wait unless your dealership can make that 1400 go away. They might be able to, depends on a bunch of factors, but financially it does not make sense to take that hit so close to the end of your lease. Last edited by jjrandorin; 01-16-2017 at 09:56 AM.. If you have a good relationship with your dealer then you can get deeper into the technicalities with your specific car. If not then they aren't going to explain much more than what is in front of you. Does that make sense? |

Also I'd check in with you CA. Your pull ahead may be "tactical" meaning at the dealers discretion they may be able to pull you ahead up to 6 months to move inventory.

Would a dealer be less open to participating in a pull-ahead program if you didn't originally lease the car from them? I am thinking of going to a different BMW dealership (closer to my home/work) than the one I leased my current vehicle from.
I'm thinking no since I would be giving them my business on the new vehicle, but just curious if anyone else has been through an experience like this? |

so for the pull ahead the dealer has to buy the car; so is there the same lease turn in inspection? tires certain tread, etc? or is it treated as a trade in?

You are not, because you have more than 6 payment left. You will have to wait until next year to see what kind of pull-ahead program will be available.

Yes, same inspection, but if you have damage and no SafeLease - the dealer will have to take the car in trade, and the damage will be shown as negative trade equity, as opposed to a charge from BMW FS.

My lease expires OCT 8, so next month I'm eligible for this program.
I've started to shop (M3, yay!). Just a heads up, some dealers really want to work and will take those extra three payments while some are like "hell no". I really believe the dealer paying three payments takes away from the discount you could get on a particular car. I don't see how not waiting until three months out is the best answer. Has anyone taken advantage of this program w/ 6 months remaining on lease?

If you negotiate for them to eat it, the money has to come from somewhere, which would be the deal on the new car. What I am saying is, in most cases, you will need to do this 3 months from the end of your lease, or be prepared to eat some payments yourself for the rest of the months that are outside of the 3 months pull ahead. |
