Buying out your car at the end of lease
Hello all,
Here is my story and hopefully this will help some of you out there that is considering keep your car after the lease. Background: I was leasing my 2014 BMW 435i M Sport coupe. Pay about $578 per month. Lease due to expired on 4/22/17. The residual on this lease is at $36,450. I went to a local dealership to negotiate. End up paying $36,000 for my car. This included $1,500 to certified my car and two brand new tires. I will get two years extended on my warranty and 2.9% financing. I called BMWFS later and found out the dealership was able to buy the car back at $31,500. They made about $3,000 on the deal. Moral of the story, I was able to keep my car and paid less for it and dealership made easy bucks. If you want to keep your car, I encourage you to go to your local dealership to lower your residual amount.

Interesting and good to know, what dealer is this in Seattle? I assume BMW in SODO? I wasn't aware you could further negotiate the residual cost at lease end if buying?
So you essentially got them to lower the residual cost and CPO the car all for less than the original residual value? |

Seattle BMW would not budge from residual. Went down to Bmw northwest. If you go, ask for Brandon. Tell him david refer you.

My residual was about $28,800 and returned it 3k under mileage in very good condition. Ended up returning and leasing a new car.
My old car was on their lot in less than a week after I returned it and dealer was asking $24,990. Its a gamble to let it go and buy it back, but that is another route
