- #5 (32307848335) - Varies on your options btw
- Paddles
New wheel only applies to people with the Sport or Base wheel, as they don't have an interchangeable rear cover.

Lucky for M-Sport Wheel owners!

Short answer is no. I've got a laundry list of mods getting done once they are done I'm going to revisit this. I havs the PINS and the wheel installed just need to figure out the wiring which I personally have no business messing with

Should have confirmed, I got my paddle shifters working with those pins connected, along with Paddles_verbaut set to aktiv in FEM_BODY. No other codes required.

I'll also be swapping my GWS to the Sport GWS. Just waiting for it in the mail and should be plug-n-play.

Essentially you'll need a wire from FEM Pin 5 of A173*7B to SZL Pin 3 of A83*2B if the wire harness doesn't have the wire.

The connectors required for the PIN are 61 13 0 005 197 x2.
Ignore that ICM comment, it makes no difference to whether you have the wire installed or not.

Do someone get a non-paddle M-sport wheel to retrofit the paddles and get them to work? I'm very interest to do this.

Got the parts from ECS today.
Will try to tackle tomorrow if I find the proper DIY instructions to retrofit my M sport steering wheel. Did a search and couldn't find it. Is it just plug and play?
First problem, how do I disconnect the battery from an AH3? Is it the same as any F30?

partly. I couldn't figure out how to attach the paddles. by the time i realized that I had to drill my wheel for the paddles to screw into, I have already put everything back. I will try again this weekend.
Plus I ordered screws for the paddles.

here where I found the info about drilling it.

you replaced your wheel so I think you just need to code your car for it.
below are the parts I bought.

Keep in mind that I didn't get a new steering wheel, I just modified my M-sport wheel. Connecting lines will vary depending what feature your wheel currently have. I have heated wheel.

Bought everything from ECS
http://www.ecstuning.com/

Screw Set ES#2599088
Rear Steering Wheel Cover ES#2706880
CONNECTING LINE, STE ES#2633640

Bought the paddles off Ebay from autopartsus
located in NY.

+1 Thank you for the information.

BTW http://www.getbmwparts.com/ also have the parts almost at the same price but the shipping is less. Still looking for the P/N on the paddles.

What do you think I will need to connect hardware wire to go get mine working? I am a bit lost in the threads. Some say nothing some say pins on the FEM_BODY.
I have a baseline car with cruise control and no heat.
I ordered a M wheel with pedals and would like to now what I need to do first hardware wise. Thanks.

Some cars are pre-wired, some aren't. It's as simple as that. If not, see below my quote for proper wiring to have fully functioning paddles.

Also you can check whether it's pre-wired by checking if those specific pins are already wired.

Otherwise it's just a simple coding to FEM_BODY, EGS, ICM and KOMBI with VO code change from 205 to 2TB. Of course you could probably just do FDL coding which is what I did, since I already enabled 2TB without paddles.

Based on another post, the FEM is around the passenger footrest area? I want to see if I need to order the cables to connect it or not. Coming from a baseline car, it probably doesn't have the connection
