Thumbs up Anyone installed 335i m performance exhaust on 328i

Does anyone install 335i m performance exhaust on 328i?
I am thinking installing 335 m performance exhaust on my 2014 328i and I called dealer to help me order one's.
But dealer said according the VIN number I provided, it seem not able to find suitable exhaust in their system.
Does anyone can tell me what the part number for 335 m performance exhaust?
cheers

Yeah, I did.

It isn't compatible, requires some work to fit the connecting pipes since A) 335i pipe is 3" and 328i is 2.5", and B) the angle and bends on the exhaust pipe right before the muffler differs a lot between the two.

Get the 335i MPE and take it to the shop, lift the car and place the muffler right below the OEM one just to get a feel of what needs to be done. Some cutting and welding plus adding an adapter will be required if you want a good solution.

Good luck

This is mostly accurate, although the 328 exhaust is 76mm, not 2.5". 335 is 80mm. I had a muffler shop install my 335 muffler on my 328 for $120 out the door. Took about an hour and a half, not too bad.

Thats true, its 76 mm vs 80 mm. Just checked an online calc and 2.5" is NOT 76 mm so my conversion estimate (im used to the metric system) was way off haha :-p

TurboMan, remember that idea I had bout putting some slits on the muffler pipe and tryin to pinch it on the 328i exhaust side? We tried so hard and really believed/wanted it to work that we ended up having to cut more on both pipes to fix it, after we realized it won't work :-). So, an adapter between the two ends is the best way to go, simple and clean.

I had the guy add a small piece of 3" piping with the slightest bit smaller outer diameter and then was able to use the 76mm OEM clamp to connect them (see pic below). I needed this to be reversible, otherwise it would probably have been cheaper and easier to just weld it, similar to the post above.

Well it is reversible on mine as well, same solution like you have with a piece of piping welded on the muffler end and clamped on the other. Its just that I had to cut off more from the muffler end since we tweaked it too much trying to pinch it on the other pipe.

Ah, I see. Yeah, it doesn't line up very well without modification. We had a similar issue aligning the angle.

Au contraire, I claim at least 5-10 hp added. It revs much quicker, more free flowing which lowers backpressure and you really feel it pull harder than before at higher speeds. Sounds is sweet as hell, what you hear inside is mostly the louder shift-burbles. From the outside its really making its presence known

Just the muffler. If I was going to upgrade the whole exhaust I would go aftermarket.
