F30 steering system

So is it safe to assume that the new F30 3-series will also come with Electric Power steering system just like the F25 X3 on which it is based on is also using?

If so I really hope BMW gets it perfect cause the 5, 6, and X3 have not been getting very positive reviews on the EPAS.

It will have electrical power steering as will just about every car on the market, thank our politicians for coming up with stricter CAFE standards. From what I have read these systems make a few tenths of a mpg different and when averaged across the entire model line it helps the factory to be compliant. It seems to me they can make these systems better, airplanes have great fly by wire systems that don't have a disconnected feel so I am hopeful that at some point they will be much better.

The ESP can be calibrated to work alright, the problem is intentional numbing of the steering to give it a luxury feel.

This is a particularly contentious issue on the F10, in that the 'x' drive cars which have hydraulic steering, reportedly have no problems, whereas many rear wheel drive car owners, including myself, are very dissatisfied with the artificial steering feel.
I understand that BMW are well aware of these complaints, therefore if it could be re-calibrated to induce better feedback and response, I think they'd have issued a software fix by now.
In other words, I'm one of those who think that hydraulic steering is much better than electric, but we're probably stuck with it non-M cars.
