2014 F10 Question(s)

Ok I've got E-Sys reading data but I'm having trouble finding the terms I need to code. For example, I can't find "SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX". I'm pretty sure I have an NBT. Is there a new cheatsheet or tutorial for the latest E-Sys? I read somewhere that many of the differences between the older one is just to look for HU_NBT instead of HU_CIC. Other than that, can I get some more guidance?

There is no NBT specific cheat sheet.

The codes for HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA are now in HU_NBT, and they mostly all the same. For DVD-In-Motion, they are:

HU_NBT => SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MAX = Werte= FF
HU_NBT => SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN = Werte= FF
HU_NBT => VIDEO_HANDBRAKE = nicht_aktiv (was CIC => VIDEO_NUR_MIT_HANDBREMSE).

If you can't find the codes, you are most likely restricting your search to a specific section of the CAFD like 3000, which you should not do. Just use the serach box at the Top, and search for the FDL Codes by name, and you will find them. It searches only from your current position in the CAFD downward, so make sure when you search, you always start at the top of the CAFD, and do not have any leading or trailing spaces in the search term, which can easily happen if you are copy and paste the FDL Code name from the cheat sheet.

To find the SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH_MIN/MAX values, you have to read the coding data for the head unit. If you have the NBT (you most likely do), then it's the in the SVT list called HU_NBT (if not, then it's in the HU_CIC).

So, you read the FA, load the SVT, find the HU_NBT ECU in the SVT list, right click on the CAFD item under the HU_NBT, and select "Read coding data". You will get a new window with the FDL stuff.

You can then search for SPEEDLOCK_X_KMH text and change the values for MIN and MAX. You also have to change the VIDEO_HANDBRAKE value to nicht_aktiv. It's all in the cheat sheets.

Haha...I got my requisite 3 hours sleep, so I'm up early.

Yes, I'm back in H-Town. Toronto and Montreal are great cities, but were too damn cold this last trip.

I was there all last week, but back home now.

I did manage to catch a Habs game at Bell Center, which made the trip worthwhile. Just wish my Bruins could have been in town instead of Carolina.

Svache,

thank you for the coding help/user guide. Will the F30 cheat sheet work for the F32?

Thanks.

Svache is long time MIA.

Mostly yes, but if you have new NBT Head Unit, codes for HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA will be in HU_NBT.

EDIABAS in and of itself is not an Application. It is a low level ECU communication system.

I assume you mean ToolSet 32. Have you tried unchecking the "English version" box under Configuration => ToolSet?

It is as I explained to you here:

Quote:
Look at how much better your post looks when using a normal Size 2 Font rather than the giant Size 5 & 6 fonts you used.

As for your problem, I am not sure about displaying the number in iDrive, but if you want to know the number or change it, you can try using Tool32, cicr.prg, as follows:

LESEN_TELEFONNUMMERN - Note which phone number is what.
SCHREIBEN_TELEFONNUMMERN - 4 arguments, being the phone numbers you wanna use.
I don't have any more details to provide.

Ok, it was a big quote you wrote above,

Well, I would try and Code BMW Live to work for Free over Bluetooth before I considered Paying for BMW Online / Connected Drive services.
