Anyone on Turandot?

My 335xi M Sport has been at the port for a little over a week, so I'm hoping it just left on the Turandot, but so far still getting "no results found" on the WW website when entering my VIN in the "Cargo ID" field. Has anyone confirmed they're on that ship yet? Looks like it just left the port tonight. From what I can tell from what others have said, seems like tracking wouldn't show up until tomorrow or later.

I am in the same boat (no pun intended) as you. My car finished production on the 16th. It has been in port waiting for a shipping vessel since. I think there was another ship on the 18th that I just missed. Not sure how long it takes from end of production to get to the port.

The BMW site still has me at the same status and the W&W site comes up empty. But I am thinking I must be on it. I will post an update when I get one.

I just keep watching the track of the boat even though I am not sure my car is on it.

Same here. Mine finished the 15th and I know it was at the port by at least the 20th, possibly sooner but I think I too missed the boat on the 18th. Supposedly takes at least a few days from production to port. I'm assuming/hoping it wouldn't sit at the port for 8 days or more without getting on the next ship out.

Contacted my CA. His system still shows it at the port. He said it could be lagging behind. I really hope so.

Never got a chance to call mine but emailed him and haven't gotten a response yet. The boat seems to be on schedule, docked in Belgium today, so hopefully our cars are on it.

My CA just emailed me. His system shows an estimated dock date of 1/9. That is actually one day early but either way it must mean I am on the Turandot.

FYI BMW's website still shows me at end of production and the phone number says I am at a port waiting for a shipping vessel. The WW site comes up with no records found - so you may need your CA to confirm.

At least I have been stalking the right boat! Can't wait. Should have my car in 2 weeks or so.

+1!!!!!!

Same on all counts. CA confirmed I'm on Turandot and said the same thing, 1/9. ETA on the marine traffic website says 5 am on 1/10, so maybe it's German time not local, which would be 1/9 for us... Either way, should be crossing the Atlantic soon!!!

Edit: my car is finally showing up on the 2wglobal website using my VIN.

This has been my experience exactly. My production ended 12/20, and now CA confirmed my car is on Turandot with an estimated arrival dock date at port of New Jersey 1/9.

What's cool is that her car is on the very same boat! You know she'll have up-to-the-minute updates on the Turandot!

Keep us posted.

You can track it here, once it comes back in range:

Back in range! Won't be much to see till next week though. Whole lot of water between where it is now (near some islands a ways off the coast Spain) and NJ.

Worse now that it's so close. I've ordered 6 cars including this one and none more agonizing to wait for. And that includes 8 months for an S5.

Just got a friend of mine a good deal on an X3 and put winter wheels on my wife's. That quenched my thirst for a couple of hours lol.

This is the 1st time I have ordered a car so it is new to me. For months I read others write how hard it was to wait. I didn't realize just how hard until now.

Same here. And it gets increasingly hard, the more effort you put into stalking your car, and actively waiting for it.

Seriously. Used to be you couldn't get all these updates, CA tells you 8 weeks, you wait for his call. No daily stalking 800#'s and websites lol.

How does it work now? It stopped reporting for a while then it seemed to be up to date. Now it says there has been no update in 13 hours. Does it just turn on its GPS every so often?

No, the free tracking only uses land based GPS tracking, instead of global satellite tracking. That means you will only be able to follow the ship's progress while it is near a shoreline. It'll be out of range for the next 4-5 days, then be trackable again once it's near the US coastline.

It is possible to track ships out at sea with global GPS, but this requires a $5000 a year membership.

Fine by me, tracking it out at sea is just agonizing anyway... Knowing it's closer to Jersey than Germany is good enough for me lol.

Ah, the Turandot - that brings back memories...

The waiting is indeed agony. My car is a 2013 that I ordered in June 2012 so it did not go into production until August. My car finally travelled across the Atlantic on the Turandot last September. What made it worse for me is that as the boat (with my much anticipated car!) was nearing North America, Hurricane Lelsie was traveling up the east coast. I almost wish I hadn't known where the boat was as I watched it heading on a collision course with the storm. But in the end the car got here OK!

Happy waiting!

Ship is supposed to dock in about 40 hours. How close does it need to be to be back in range?

Typically closer to 3-4 hours off the coast.
