My BMW Remote USA App - Login Problem - Please Help

I downloaded "My BMW Remote" from the Google Play store. I put in my email address and pw and it says my username/pw is wrong. I tried email address in all caps. Still doesn't work.

I called the BMW Assist line and they can't figure it out. They're telling me the app should say "My BMW Remote 'US'" at the top even though mine doesn't have "US". However, in the reviews on the app store, before you download it, every says "finally- its available in the US", etc., indicating that this is the USA version of the app.

I called 3 different reps and they said they could not help me. I also tried changing my pw. Any help would be appreciated.

It does NOT say "US" at the top. If you downloaded it from the Play Store and you are in the US, you got the right version.

Most likely you have your login wrong. That is, assuming your car is capable. Since you said you contacted BMW Assist, I would say yes. Have you tried the default password?

I put in my pw that they confirmed was right. Try for shits and giggles, we changed the pw and it still would not work. I have a 2014 328i, so its capable. I dunno what else to do and the reps on the phone didn't either.

I've never been able to get mine to work... I'm not sure if maybe its crippled because I have a 320, but when I login, I get the following error:

No activated services. Please go to ConnectedDrive portal to activate Remote Services and My info.


I've called BMW assist multiple time (even from the car) and they are unable to help...

The annoying thing is, I don't believe there IS a ConnectedDrive Portal for US. When you go there, you can select other continents...not NA.

When you guys says you called BMWAssist, you mean from the car with the SOS button, right? That's how I activated mine.

When you click "forget password" on the app, it tells you to call a phone #. I called it with my phone and its the "BMW Assist" dept. They knew what I was talking about but they said they don't know what the problem is and that it should be working for me.

my GUESS is that it is an issue with the Android version. Try doing it on an iPhone with the BMW Remote USA app

I really think its something on the server side that isn't enabled. I just picked up a random Android 4.4.x phone, downloaded the app, logged in and was able to get it to work. Trying to remember how I got this setup in the first place.
I'm pretty sure I just hit the SOS button and told them I am a new owner and would like to setup for remote access. She verified that they could locate the car and did something on her end to allow remote access. I recall trying to log in to the remote app on my iPhone while she was on the line and it started working. It didn't work, until she did whatever it is that she did.

Correct, I had to call in the rep too in order to get it to work. Try calling BMW connect from the car and let them know to activate the remote app from the phone.

On a sidenote I'm a bit disappointed as it only allowed me to lock/unlock, honk horn and flash the lights. Not sure what I was expecting.

I just spoke to a rep via BMW assist. Apparently, BMW has been telling people (including me) that they could use the application, as long as they have BMW assist. That is incorrect... the app is only available to cars with a certain package (and mine was not one of them). She believes it's a combination of BMW assist and the nav and/or the tech package. Stinks for me, but if you have those, it should work!

I'm in Canada and I couldn't login for the longest time even though I confirmed with the rep that my password was right. Then the rep noticed something that wasn't quite right with the account and she sent something off to the powers that be. She did inform me that it would take a bit to get resolved. About 7-8 days later it worked.

My BMW remote app now works in Canada after not doing so for the longest time. I can see a picture of my car and the VIN but there is no functionality available. I don't believe I have the 6AP code or whatever is required. Kind of useless!!

My BMW Remote app (on my iphone) is really goofy. The ONLY thing it can accomplish is to locate the vehicle so at least I know the app is there. If I try to flash the lights or blow the horn it just sits there and spins. After awhile it tells me" Service not performed because vehicle is nor responding. For more information see FAQs"

I was under the impression you can tell it to flash the lights or blow the horn more than once if need be but there is NO option allowing for that so this thing is REALLY screwed up. Oh, and yes, I did delete the app and reinstall it just to make sure.

There are NO FAQ's to check. While the guys at BMW genius have busted their butts trying to resolve this issue - still no luck. Contacted them again about an hour ago and it looks like they will have to send the problem to some "special" group that "may" be able to resolve this issue. They told me it "could" take weeks!
