Help Bad Bms stage 1?!?

I purchased a Bms stage 1 from a member here. Trying compare the harness to the install guide on their website but my harness has more than two plugs, which I assume it's the older model plug that is ready for a jb4 if you want to upgrade? I plug the brown to map , rainbow to the tmap, the purple to the maf. I didn't use the blue wire, nor the red/blk/grn/brown wire that are suppose to be tapped into the dme. After I start the car about 5 second later it will throw the "drivetrain malfunction" warning light. He said he recently had the light come on in his car and went away after he took it out, which is wants happening to mine right now, so leads me to assume that the stage 1 is bad? I've attached a picture of the tune and harness.sorry it gets cut off had to resize it

You don't need the purple wire. Just brown and rainbow

I have the same one - never threw a drivetrain light. Now I didn't hook up the purple cable - if you download the old instructions, it tells you not to do that. What I am curious about is if there is a update for this? I've had mine for 2 years now - I'm sure there had to be some firmware modifications? wonder how to get them if that is the case?

That's a very old model. If you send it in to BMS they can update it to a current Stage1 board (and harness mod) for $100. There are no posted firmware updates for Stage1.

Really? Do I need to call them and check on that? What is the difference between the new updated version and the Dinan version they just came out with?

Dinan that came out is the SPORT, comparable to the JB+ not the Jb stage 1 (both connect to TMAP only)

The new JB stage 1 connects to MAP and TMAP

In some cases, the JB stage 1 adds a little more power than the JB+ or Dinan

Also make sure you reattach the hose and tee that pop off when taking the cover off of the engine. I missed that the 1st time and drove me crazy trying to figure out what went wrong. Those will toss a code if they aren't plugged in.
