18s or 19s on stock height xDrive?

Hey guys, I have a 328i xDrive sportline so it currently has the style 397 18x8 wheels with 225/45 front and rear.

They are just a bit too skinny for my taste so I wanted to update with a new set of wheels, but am stuck on whether to stay 18s or go up to 19s.

I really love the Apex EC7 or PS7 but I feel a mesh style wheel in 18s will look too small. I could go to 19s but worry that it will look even worse given the xDrive fender gap.

Looking for any suggestions!

IME and IMO, ride quality on 19" sucks, so I would stick with 18" and use something like 235/40.

Yea I tend to agree. I used to have 19s on my E46 but that was a long time ago. My wife drives this car with the kids and I don't want to deal with bent rims or blown tires.

Just need to find an 18 inch wheel that has a good design and won't look "small" for it's size

Probably going to go staggered and go stock MSport tires sizes, 225/45 and 255/40
