Tengo, it's as if our minds are linked!
There will be a party at work when I get 3 points, everyone has them, I have only ever had 6 in 20 years ( touch wood) but always get home first. Off topic I was driving home last weekend at 2am, RTO pulled in the let me pass (within limit) they then followed for about 10 bloody miles on a 50limit A road. Thank god for the sped limiter is all I can say.

PS - drive much the same as you, but without a camera detector. One speeding ticket in 40 years and that was when I was in my early 20's, caught by a WPC doing 38mph in a temporary 30 limit.

Car club National trust Princess on board Basically any sign than that the car belongs to a real person. Hence why private plates are a big giveaway.

I use my GPS safety camera detector on most journeys, and particularly on unfamiliar roads. A cheap and cheerful device from Snooper without which I'd probably be getting the bus by now. It has a setting which means that it only beeps at you if you're approaching a (fixed) camera too fast
I have had the speed limit display option on my current F31 which is also useful - particularly when the limit is actually higher than you think

Back in the 80's / 90's the Grampian police / Highland police had reports from tourists about being cut up and abused by 'locals'. Well the police put a number of cars with foreign plates on the roads. Cheating twats. Bit like them using HGV tractor units to patrol motorways. It just ain't cricket. That and m6 toll can have around 8 unmarked cars at times. |
