No A/C in 2013 335i Sedan

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Picked up our car in November (ordered in early October) and didn't notice that the A/C (or dehumidifying defrost I suppose) wasn't working until it has finally warmed up. We made an appointment for service but thought I'd see if anyone else had experienced the issue already.

The compressor kicks in but there is no cooling. The roller vent is set to cool. I'm thinking it needs refrigerant, but find it odd being brand new.

Finally a new issue! Tired of seeing endless discussions about limp mode and rattles

I had this issue too. I was driving to Charlotte, turned on the AC, and the AC would not work! The fan would but no cold air. After about 15 minutes (1 hour into the drive now), it finally did.

I wish it would be that simple for me. This has been going on for weeks now. We live a couple of hours from the dealer so I have to get a loaner in case they have to keep the car. Unfortunately, that means the the appointment has to coordinate with loaner availability, which was almost 4 weeks out.

So we've been enjoying the sunroof and al fresco motoring for a several weeks now!

I checked to make sure is wasn't a fuse but don't have the necessary tools to check refrig. levels.

Was the car in Eco? There is a check box under Eco settings which does not allow the air to be as cool.

Happened to me when I got my car. They claim the factory forgot to add refridgerant... They added refridgerant and did a 2-day seal test to confirm for leaks. AC works ever since.

Oh boy, where are those robots in the manufacturing plant, maybe shaking hands

Sad to see these kind of issues pop up on our cars.

not sure what material they are but they are placed in the car's suspension to keep it from rocking during transport, i dont think they are heavy, more like Styrofoam type material

They are not heavy but are not meant to be driven with. they should be removed as soon as the car is taken of the boat/truck.

Keep us posted on what the fix is. Hopefully it is something as simple as adding refrigerant.

Wow. I'm hoping it's that simple. My car was manufactured in 11/12, how about yours?

Refrig guy might have been on a beer break!

Don't you guys run A/C whenever using air of any kind? It depends on where you live, but ambient humidity in your HVAC system is not good at all, def don't want mold growing in there...
