Staggered Diameter Front/Rear
First I want to say that this is a serious question for RWD F30s.
What are the pros/cons of running a staggered diameter set up as long as the overall diameter of the wheel/tire combo is the same? I've search the internet and this forum about it, but there isn't a lot of smart and informed information on the topic. I'm itching to try out a 19" on the front with a 20" rear set up. My reasons are as follows.
My concern isn't peak performance at the track. The concern has more to do with comfort and visual balance. Let me know what you think (unless it has anything to do with "What is this? A muscle car forum?"). |

I apologize for the phone photo. And I know the car is dirty.
Here are my initial thoughts. I think the 20 inch is a bit too aggressive while the 19 inch is too subdued. The 275/30/20 Hankook does rub the inner liner when the suspension is compressed. I may have to get the camber adjusted to compensate. The width is 10 inch with a offset of 40. The rear tires are inflated to 40psi; I may bring it down to 38psi. I The front is kind of bland but no rubbing issues. I may get a 5mm spacer for the front. The front tires are inflated to 38psi; I will most likely bring it down to 35psi. I will post up better photos when I get the car detailed. For the small percentage of people that were wondering about this set up, I hope this was helpful. I just thought I'd give it a shot. I'm not sure if I like it, but it's not too bad. |

Kudos for even attempting this and thanks especially for sharing. If you can get the car valeted before the next set of pics I'm sure it would help
How noticeable is the difference irl? Maybe it's just me but from this pic I'm not sure I'd have clocked the difference if I didn't already know. Are you going to stick with it? |

But as you say, the front tire side wall is noticeable higher. A front tire with slightly more stretch in combination with a taller rear tire should help to improve the look even further. |

I have to say I think this could look even better. Personally I would get a smaller tyre in the rear say a 265 or 255 I actually have a 255 on my 20x10 and I would lower it more. If you look at the muscle cars that run these different diameters they are always lower. Honestly if you do this I really think you have created something really good
