idrive.
i have a 2012 f30... is the software different on the new 2013? and is it different then the ones on the M series?... if so how do i go ahead to upgrade my drive software to latest

well. that is a european model. not sure if they started putting the new idrive software in euro models/canadian models, so far all i know is the AH3 has updated software.
you can upgrade your software, but it is mostly for bug fixes/bluetooth compatibility etc and you will not visually see differences. as for how to update your software,  I know your new here, but take notice in the other sections of the forum. I have seen a few of your posts all fall under general. check out the forum on idrive/navigation as for your “cleaning” thread, there is also an entire forum for this too..

That is new Navigation hardware, not software that your car can be updated to. It is available on all F31s, ActiveHybrid3s, and all F30s except those in North America, beginning with November 2012 production.
