I know that this has been addressed before, but are only sedans made at the SA plant? If so, do both 328 and 335 models get built there?

Hopefully this will not also mean the end of the European Delivery option for the 3er. I rather like having a reason to drive around over there. Were it not for the ED program, I'd only go to major cities and not get a car at all. Indeed, that's what I've done for every one of my trips. I'm doing ED on the 5er I ordered, so that'll be my first time even doing ED...

Yea, my next purchase will be an ED, but I am going next gen m3. I would be really suprised if they moved the m3 production here.

i doubt they'd move m3 production to the U.S. They seem to take pride in having their own M factory or whatever it is where they build the M cars. I'm on the fence about how i feel if the regular 3 series were produced in the U.S.

Think it this way.... Jobs in the USA are different now... No one with a 4 years college degree will be working in a production line in a manufacturing industry. Manufacturing is a down slope here and people with no education or just ok education applies to those jobs.... they might have a great controller with an Ivy school degree but do you really think americans listen to your superior?? haha this is a selfish country and other american cars prove the fact of the quality control for the past 20 years in automotive history.

American quality has been historically poor for years. However, as of late, american quiality has shot up to at least german quiality and on par with many asian brands. Now, do you think this is due to a sudden change in the workforce on the line or the corporate culture change thats swept through amercian brands in the last 4-6 years?

If they didn't come up with good quality cars... they would been out of business long time ago......Good they are finally opening their eyes to what consumer wants. RELIABLE CAR.....But still there is just a broad thought that Asian/European cars are more reliable than our cars.... It's not about HPs anymore... it's more about reliability.. and that what americans should be concentrating for the next 10 - 20 years

I'm sure they will still have Euro delivery.

This is a good thing- we could see a price drop with the F30. And I think if BMW starts building 3ers in the US, we could see the F36 built here too.

And it would be good for the US economy as well.

You think you're BMW made in Germany only has Germans touching it, think again buddy, I went on the factory tour in Munich, it's full of Turks, Poles, and other eastern Europeans.

So long as the car is designed and engineered in Germany, with Germans looking after the QC it doesn't matter where it's built.
