Car looks amazing. I am considering getting the M Performance body kit port-installed on an F30 340xi I have coming, this thread is hugely helpful as while mine is a glacier silver sedan it's also an xDrive and has the same wheels.

One question, was it pretty straightforward to convey your custom pain instructions to the VPC? Or did your CA really have to go the extra mile?

Really nice car with tasteful modifications/options. Congratulations.

And i give you even more credit for having the patience to factory order the car the way you want it. Not many people willing to do endure the wait.

But where I give you the most credit, and some may think this is over the top, is your leather dash option. That option really adds a different feel and quality to the whole package. I ordered the leather dash option on my E70 X5 5 years ago and i still get compliments today. It's also all napa. Btw, my leather dash looks as new today as it did when i picked it up.

Reading your first post i was quite surprised that the ordering system accepted the Xt1 option especially since that requires Merino leather. So i guess they moved you over to option 4M5 standard leather dash without the all the extra leather on the lower part of the dash and top of the door panels?

Agree on the leather dash. It was just a standard option when I ordered my F31 in 2014. I think they yanked it from the option list shortly thereafter. It's fantastic, and looks just as good as day 1 after 20k miles.

And here's the CF shifter trim. I just order the shifter surround with the alcantara and CF, so will post some pics once installed. I think it adds a nice touch, it has a nice woven tactile feel, plus it gets rid of some unwanted chrome in the interior.

Agree with other comments. OP's car is one of the best US wagons on these boards!

Thank you!

It was sort of a pain, you have to know exactly what you want and communicate that clearly to the dealer. My dealer was willing to do the work with BMW NA to see what the VPC can and can't do.

That was very kind of you, I appreciate that you appreciate the dashboard and the dedication.

You are correct, I have the 4M5 (4M5- Ind. Instrument Finished In Leathe Individual Instrumententafel Leder) specifically on the car. The only two things my car doesn't have compared to XT1 is the leather on the top of the door panels and the contrast white stitching above the instrument cluster. My understanding is that all else is the same.

Thanks for the links. I've seen your car before, and drooled over the dash. I do like the look of the shifter surround.

You're too kind by pushing my car into the circle of the best US wagons.

Thanks, I hear you on it being a bit of a pain, I'm going through that now. Were they willing to negotiate on the port-installed accessories? My dealer is unwilling to do them for anything less than MSRP and I'm pretty close to just saying forget it and adding this stuff later, though I do really like the idea of getting the body work done at the VPC.

Call me and I'll walk you through what I did. Send me a pm with your personal email. Tell your dealer to pound sand.

That is exciting! What did you get?

My car arrived on 3/17, it sat at the VPC for 2 weeks, it is unlikely it arrived at the same time.

Ah-ha, I hadn't thought about all your port-installed bits. The leather dash is fantastic btw

Not meaning to jack your post, I'll make one here shortly. They would look great side by side!

Nice car but dude you really need to switch to black kidney grills. And get some black exhaust tips while you're at it. The chrome looks completely out of place on this awesome red/black combo.

New parts arrived today, here is a sampling.

I found these seat back protectors in the parts catalog, lord knows if BMW actually wants to sell these things since you need to be Indiana Jones to find them. They are pretty well made and fit the seat and interior well enough. Ignore the plastic on the seats, I didn't finish working on the car yet.

Congrats cncmastr! Your car looks awesome. I just picked up a CPO F31 Msport on Friday at Kelly in Columbus where I saw E_H_D’s F31 parked not far from the just arrived M2.

Can’t wait to start making some improvements – some great inspiration here
