Don't know how many of you are still waiting for a DINAN tune for your N20/N26 engines. After contacting them a few times over the past year I feel confident that we will see a tune out by the end of the year. Below is the response that I received today from DINAN. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

"We are working on it. Slowly but surely. We have had a 328i that we have been working on and off again for a while. Just so happens we keep loaning it out as a loaner vehicle while we work on development on the bigger cars (8 and 6 cylinder). Luckily we are nearing the end on quite a bit of development on the aforementioned vehicles so the N20 should become more of a priority. The end goal, and we are well on pace to accomplish it, is to have a tune for nearly all the BMW product line (minus diesel) before years end. Currently, the engineering target date for the 4 cylinder tune is October this year. Take that date with a grain of salt however as these dates are very fluid and are simply targets but that’s the best I can offer at this time unfortunately."

Unless it is a flash tune like a cobb access port, I don't see it's value.

Very satisfied with my BMS tune, yes it's a piggyback ecu, very noticeable improvement in the real world and in the dyno numbers, and fairly priced.

We can't even get a sound clip of there exhaust system for the n20 that's actually out let alone a tune.

The exhaust clip for the 328i has been the bane of my existence. I can tell you its not for lack of trying to get it. Every time the car gets put back together its immediately back out as a loaner and when it comes back it seems to be back in pieces before we can get to it / aware it's back. Currently it's out as a loaner. When it comes back again in a week or so I will attempt to get a sound clip again. With any luck I will be successful or perhaps it will continue to be my white whale. Regardless, rest assured I will post it up on the forums, facebook, and product pages as soon as I am able as it will personally be a victory most sweet.

Surely such important stuff like the sound and performance improvement such as dyno would be recorded and properly documented during the testing and development.

It definitely would be on the car during then. Unless there was some further tweaks that would have changed it drastically (but then again, it should have gotten back on the car for testing again).

Thanks for the response its nice to have some feedback directly from Dinan. I would be a buyer of the exhaust cause ive always liked your products but its hard to pull the trigger when there have been no reviews or even a video of it. Also on your site it states "*D660-0046 does not fit vehicles with the M-Aerodynamic rear bumper." Does this mean that its not compatible with the M sport package cars? Which outlet location wise is identical to modern, lux, sport, no line cars. Also do you guys have anymore future developments for the n20? Maybe an intake like the N52 N54 & N55 community has gotten?

Thanks for the questions. I went over to the powers that be and after some ETK digging it was confirmed. The 328i exhaust would fit the M-Performance Package cars as well. As you mentioned the rear bumper does not change between the different packages. I have updated the website accordingly. Outside of the tune and the already released exhaust and suspension there are no definitive plans on any further upgrades (CAI, Intercoolers, etc) but that may change if demand presents itself or if something from another chassis happens to fit.

You guys can mark me down as someone interested in F30 328i components. I prefer to run with Dinan, and I'm hoping to see some major advancements in the future. I'm investigating other options for a LSD right now, but I'd still like to see what you guys come out with. The tune is the biggest desire right now, so the sooner the better!!!

Still no update on the exhaust sound/video? Its a nice pickup while its on sale...

We have a video crew coming in on Tuesday of next week. I have been promised the 328i will be available (it's gone again currently) for that so the exhaust clip should be posted by mid-next week. And as stated above the N20 tunes have begun to be released. This current iteration is a very limited release since it only applies to mechanical wastegate vehicles but the electronic wastegate version will be out soon and I would imagine, hold very similar numbers (312 HP / 330 lb-ft of torque).

I am a noob when it comes to these tunes. But what makes this 1000 dollars more than say the BMS stage one.

Is this tune done differently, is it more safer, is it the brand and its reputation for reliability, whats the deal.

I think Dinan tune would be worth buying only if their tune offer more than 285whp/330wtq and warranty. Maybe they would with their stage 2 tune?
