Opinions on M Sport Trim Accents
Anybody want to weigh in on the M Sport Trim Accent options? The particular subjects of discussion: Estoril Blue Matte vs Black High Gloss
With hypothetical interior: Aluminum Hexagon Trim and Black Leather Interior (please note if you've seen both in person and not just pictures) Best I could do for pics: VS |

My car will be black on black, and I ordered aluminum with the blue accent. I feel it breaks up the all black interior. Personally, I'm not a fan of wood trim inside of modern sporty cars (would be OK in a 7er).
Yes, I saw it in person with the black interior. |

you didnt get the feeling that the matte blue looks a little cheap? i also feel the gloss black breaks it up well, even though it's not as noticable as the blue. i get a really cheap vibe from that matte blue

I think the matte blue looked a bit to flashy and got black.

I've ordered a EB M-Sport with beige venetian leather with the matte blue and hexagonal aluminum. I really like it.
The blue does stand out, but I like because my car is blue. Feels a bit sporty to me. But if you get a bad vibe from the blue, you know what to do, get the black. Blue for you is a risk. |

I went with the blue stripe. I love how it complements the estoril blue exterior and the BMW logo in the centre of the steering wheel. I also like it because it is unique to the m sport package so it enhances the not-so-common look and feel of the car. Anyone can order the black stripe. Why not be a little more unique? After all you are paying for the privilege to have the blue stripe by orderig the m sport package.

Aluminum/black here with black Dakota on EB II. The blue trim was a bit too flashy for me. I like the aluminum to brighten it up. Otherwise it would be like a black hole.

I got the blue...looks amazing. Also breaks up the monotenous interior (this is a joke ) But seriously, blue looks amazing - wouldn't have it any other way.

I've seen both in person so here are my thoughts. The blue doesn't exaclty match the EBII so I think it looks strange. I have BLS with Black Dakota and Aluminium Hex w/ Black. I have also seen it on MG and AW and I think it makes the interior look really sharp. However, if you go Beige the blue may look better. At the end of the day it's personal preference so try to look at both in person (pics will never do it justice) and then decide.

I also don't understand comments about wood not belonging in a sporty car. Why? Ended up buying an M Sport with wood. My personal opinion only: it looks both sporty and rich. |

I have an aw msport with alum and black. The blue stripe would look very out of place since I have black leather and it would bring a 3rd color to the interior which makes it too busy

Wood looks good in a 1960 Jaguar MkII, because that's the best material they had 50 years ago for the task. This is all just my opinion, of course. My '12 M3 was black/black/carbon leather. It was a great combo, but ultimately was too monotonous for me. Does Darth Vader have wood on his outfit? Hell no. But he's got a blue light, and still looks badass |

i went blue stripe with blue paint. i figured well the blue paint was flashy as it was, might as well go all the way with it.
i'm also not a fan of wood in cars that have a more sporty exterior, but i think antracite wood looks ok. i guess its more like, i wouldn't get brown wood on an m-sport, but i'd be fine getting brown wood on say a luxury line. just doesnt seem to fit the same. |

Mr. McGuire in "The Graduate" might be a better argument for your interior: Mr. McGuire: I want to say one word to you. Just one word. Benjamin: Yes, sir. Mr. McGuire: Are you listening? Benjamin: Yes, I am. Mr. McGuire: Plastics. Benjamin: Exactly how do you mean? Mr. McGuire: There's a great future in plastics. Think about it. Will you think about it? 1967! The interior blue strip is fairly muted and does not distract at all. In fact, it could have been a little more vivid.
