Replace the exhaust tips on stock exhaust?
Hi,
I have the stock 328i exhaust, with dual tips on one side. I want to keep the stock exhaust and only replace the tips, as I think they look too small. This is what it looks like today (you all know the stock exhaust). I want to replace those tips, but from what I have found out, they are welded there. So I might have to cut the pipes and replace them. What I want is two tips that looks like this: I have not found this anywhere, the new tips need to be bigger, but not to big, because they wont fit, they will touch eachother if they are too large. Is this available anywhere? Haven't found anyone who's done this!? |

care to share about your diffuser? Is that a black vinyl wrap? I've been trying to figure out something to do for my non-m base diffuser...

If you find a solution let us know. I figure the best is to spray paint them black so the carbon build up over time is not so noticeable. Best option is to replace OEM exhaust with aftermarket that has bigger tips.

I like it.....breaks up the rear end. I've actually gotten a couple compliments in the last week after having it done. Best part too, if you don't like, peel it off.

the tips are not welded on. it takes a bit of force but you just pull it off.
although the sportline (black chrome) tips are the same diameter they look better. you could try the 528i slant cut tips but i'm not sure if it has the same diameter piping out of the muffler. if you go aftermarket you will have to measure the 328i pipe diameter and find a tip that will fit via spring clips or a screw holding it on. |

[u2b]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pCbhjahsFe0[/u2b] will try it just to see how it holds up. Otherwise ill simply powder coat them.

Then it might be possible to find replacement tips? Do you know the diameter of the tube when the tips are removed? |

the oem muffler piping is only about 2" so i am not sure if this example could work. this is 2.5" to 3.5" out. the 4" diameter wont fit. you need to contact ECS to be sure. https://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-F32-42.../Exhaust/Tips/ |

just fyi for others, there is a review from a 328i owner that these 3.5 tips will not fit (maybe a 2.5 will but ECS dont have those)
