I am starting to grin more and more - its taking a while as I learn to drive the car (its got so much to give). Also getting over the shock of petrol economy....
Well I do subscribe to the hard break in method

The trouble with that method is "Synthetic Oil" cos thats a NO NO for break-in method and all BMW engines are full of it , so this method it useless to engines having synthetic oil in them, you must drain it out and then go through this procedure .
Personally I just drive the car until oil warmed up and then boot it, end of story, never needed any oil added to my new cars, even my E90 M3 used only 1 pint in 7K miles and it went like stink.

I can get 34 mpg easily (even seen 37ish, which is amazing giving its running in!

Starting to push it a bit harder and after a few faster drives it has been lowered the average to 30.

I gave it 1000 miles of mixed RPM's when Oil hot, then boot down all the way, I never actually ran it in just got the Oil hot and drove it.

The M135i looks good in that colour.

I have covered 650Miles in this new touring 328i luxury, it's returning 36MPG, mixed driving now, no real town work though we live out of town.

Yeah, i am starting to do a similar routine after 12 miles (when its fully warmed up!).

i think the 328i could well be the unsung hero, its quite a bit cheaper and that is good combined MPG! How is the engine note and smoothens?

of course, it wont have all those torques of you inbound 330d

The engine note is not so great, the M135i sound is FANTASTIC.
The 330D M Sport should wipe the floor with this 328i.The torque alone on the diesel is immense,
.
I just saw the video of the RS3 VS M135i , what a pocket rocket you've got there.

Shame they couldn't make the 328i sound nice! I bet the 330d will sound better as well...

the M135 does sounds epic - especially in Chris's video! Never would have thought it could beat the RS3 in a straight line

Mate I had every Audi under the sun before being a BMW convert, the B7 RS4, RS6, two S8's, two A8's one V8 4.2D Sport, S6, all these new and NONE lived up to the hype , every one of them understeered so badly to was a disappointment. My last Audi was the B7 RS4 and I sold it for an M3 and never looked back

Question

I really like the 18 in wheels compared to the 18s on the 3 series M Sport.

Does anyone know if they are compatible with the F30/31

So then TMP, you've had the M135i for about a month now, hows its going - was it the right choice? And do you wish you had waited for the F30 330d?

TMP. I can't get the offset size of the M135i 436M wheels. Would you be able to check the offset size as I would like to know if they would fit the F31 330d M sport that i intend to order. Grateful for your help.

Hey mate. Interesting question and one I am asking myself quite a bit at the moment.

1) Not sure I am a fan of the cockpit, few things not as good as the e90. This of course is the same cockpit as the F30, so bit of a mute point!
2) That engine, when you start it in the morning wow its just so Fcuking looud and when you do go 4k+ and over double wow.
3) Fuel economy is relatively poor, but v.good for a car of its performance. If you drive it like a granny, it will do mid-30's easily ans low 40's on mway.
4) Handling /chasis / brake setup v.impressive as well - really does feel totally planted (much more so than a M Sport). I can see why it made it into the Evo car of the year!

do i regret not waiting for mine....hmmm no i dont as would still have 4 more weeks to go!
Would i go back to a 330d at some point...maybe, but i still think the M Sport rides too high?
But i am pretty sold on the M-lite car - so would be keen to see if they do a M335d or M335i?

How do i find that out mate? I do know the F20 has different bolts to the old e80 1 series, if that helps...so they are not interchangable
