Gloss Black Grills

Hi all,

My 325D M Sport Superman is on order and should be here at some point during September (hopefully early on).

I want to get a set of gloss black grills for it ready for when it arrives but can't seem to find them on the genuine accessories bit of the BMW website although it does list the front grilles under the BMW performance section.

Can anyone help me out with a part number at all please? Also, if you have any recommendations of the best place to order them from I'd appreciate it.

Many thanks, Alex.

These are the part numbers

Front trim grill, black, left M PERFORMANCE 1 51712240775
Front trim grill, black, right M PERFORMANCE 1 51712240778

I would try the supplying dealer, should get some discount or at worse free fitting, so there on when you collect

Get the dealer to fit them before collection, they should charge you for the grills but get them to throw the fitting in free of charge, that what I did

Depends on the dealer !
I got well ripped off on the supply & fitting of the grillls. I'm sure i paid around £160.
That's the dealership getting so much back on the discount i managed to arrange, although i forgot about some additionals.

How easy are these things to fit anyway? Can't be that difficult surely.

Great to hear, thanks - I'll probably order some before my car arrives - looks much better than the standard one on the M Sport EBII in my opinion.

AUSTRALIA*Black Kidney

GrillsPage***1***2AMJAM*05:21 AM 06-04-2013

The modifications have started.Yesterday I applied a few coats of satin black to my e tag to make it almost invisible once installed on my windshield.Today picked up some black grills at my dealer and tonight installed them. Now I read the DIY and decided that was just too much hard work. Looked at the black grills and worked out a way that had them done in I would say 2 minutes.Put my finger through the grill and depressed the tabs one at a time starting with the top ones and pulled as I did it. Had the first grill out and then used the access to take out the second. The tools I used was a knife to open the boxes and a microfibre towel to remove finger printsIf anyone in Sydney needs help happy to help with more detail or do it for you on the 23rd at the meet.

Fitted mine as above.
Picked them up from the dealer and then fitted them in the car park in 2 mins before driving off. Was hoping that others might see who are interested in buying and would save them the £85 labour costs that I was originally quoted.

I didn't think of that - the dealer just swapped them over and kept the original ones which they no doubt resold !

I would like the black kidney grill surround, as I already have the black grills, do you have to order the whole lot? Or can you just Getty the surrounding pieces? I think it will look very good on my jet black f31......when I finally get it.
