Two coaxial Match UP replacement on front doors ?
2016 F30 with BASE sound system ( and EntryNav )
My front passenger door speaker is broken, does a lot of cracking sound, so it needs to be replaced. Instead of replacing it with an expensive new OE speaker. Or buying 2 trims for tweeters + tweeters + new OE speaker. I am thinking of buying two coaxial: X4BMW FRT.2 Will be ok for front ? Will they fit ? I see they are 4 inches like the base, but i'm thinking about the holes pattern. |

Coax speakers don't work well as the tweeter is too far below ear level. You should be able to find used replacement midrange speakers, being sold by people who believed the advertising and bought aftermarket replacements. You may use Base, Hi-Fi or H-K. If you ever plan on adding an amp get either Hi-Fi or H-K, which will handle more power than Base.
As for adding tweeters, I put these in my rear doors as pictured. You can install them in the front doors where the OEM go, by drilling a hole in the stock trim piece. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...e?ie=UTF8&th=1 |
