Coding replacement Adaptive Cruise sensor
Hi,
I'm having problems with my ACC - not had the car long and bought it knowing there might be an issue. I'm getting the 'collision detection malfunction' or words to that effect on the iDrive and also ISTA showing a ACC internal fault which comes back immediately when cleared. This is a permanent situation now, happens every start. I have sourced a replacement used radar sensor module but I believe it will need coding into the car - is that the case? Also, what are the chances of not needing to get the whole system recalibrated if it works? Anything else I need to be aware of? Thanks, Ted |

OK, so have got hold of the replacement sensor which is from a 2015 car (mine is 2014), see attachment. Connected it up and now getting ISTA fault code 482188 - 'The coding data in the control unit do not match the vehicle'
Any ideas? Is this something that can be fixed with ISTA or am I looking at going to a specialist? Thanks Last edited by CaptainFlasheart; 05-26-2022 at 07:53 AM.. |

Not sure, my guess is that its beefed up for computer control of the brakes? The brake hard lines also have different part numbers for acc but I didnt change those.
