If you don't like it don't buy it; simply put.
I think it's awesome and although I wouldn't spend my money on it for a DD, had I had extra money (being rich ) I'd consider one. Looks sexy in M-Sport trim |

Granted it's no M3, M5 or 1M but it is a great daily driver!
Listen, if you have the garage space and you have more then one or two cars it's a great car for a lot of reasons. I have a 2011 X5d that is wonderful, my favorite DD is my 2000 E46 323it. It's very comfortable. But neither of these compare to my 1M, M3 or even my Audi S4. If you can only have one car, take your pick. M3 or Diesel wagon. It's good to have options, but I would NEVER say one is good and one is bad. I haven't met many/any really bad BMW's! Well, I do hate the over boosted/electric steering on 3 series (thus the S4), but that's another post. I'd buy one as soon as the lease on my wifes 2011 328xiT was up! Thumbs up to more wagons and more Diesels! |

Is your problem with diesels because your last experience with it was in a 1978 Mercedes 240D? But a modern European diesel actually suits American driving better than a gasoline engine does: you get more torque for winning your lane merges, while consuming 30% less fuel. Gas engines beat diesels only in the most high performance driving: track or autobahn. Very few people do the former (and they usually buy more appropriate cars than wagons), and you can only experience the latter for a couple of weeks while doing ED. Is your problem with wagon body because your last experience with it was in your mother's LTD Country Squire? But this is a BMW we're talking about - when you move from a sedan to a wagon, you sacrifice about 70kg in extra weight (equals to something like .2s in 0-60, and 1mpg), but gain a huge amount of useable space. For many people with families, this means that the other family vehicle can now be a normal car instead of an ugly SUV. Is that what you mean by "being managed by females"? And is there really a car that would not benefit from better suspension, better steering wheel and seats, and better looks? |

Is it weird that I watched the whole thing?
The F30 front end looks real aggressive in real life. Much improved over the E90. I had a black F30 sneak up on me the other night in my rear view, and I was thinking man, that looks sweet! Just the right mix of sporty and angry. |

Not completely sold on the touring thing, but my mind is changing pretty quick. If I were to ever buy a touring, it would be a BMW.
It's weird how the f30 looks so aggressive from the front, classic from the side and modern from the rear end. It's interesting. I like the f30 more with every passing day. It's not like I even disliked it at first. I actually liked it right from the start. But now, it's insane! It's like I'm falling in love with this design all over again. This seems like another timeless design from BMW. Time will tell. |

Weird thing in Canada, at times diesel is more expensive that premium at certain times in the winter.
You still get the better mileage but we are getting ripped off for diesel fuel here due to the large volume of pick up trucks that run diesel. Its in high demand so that drives prices up. In Alberta the commuter vehicle of choice is a F350 or Chevy 3/4 ton diesel truck. |

Sir, you're comment doesn't make you American, it makes you a little ill-informed - have you driven this new Diesel engine? Have you happened to notice what has been winning Le Mans 24hr for years now? Yup diesel.
Diesel no longer equals tractor - best be informed before you make a public judgement. |

I recently bought a 2013 X1 and I'm really loving it. I prefer to think of it as a wagon on stilts. Pretty great drive.
But man, something tells me I'd be loving that wagon even more. |

I can understand people who prefer petrol engine, for sure. I would love to drive one 6cyl petrol engine. But 2 things to understand why a 3.0 6cyl is not a bad thing :
- first, it is a real 6cyl, with all you can expect from it : torque, HP, smooth, even sound (though it is not as good as a petrol) => joy when you ride it. Just try it!!! If you ever come to Paris, I would be happy to give you a ride, so you can test how far it is from a tractor!!! Impossible to compare with the 2.0d 4cyl, which is a good diesel, but far far from 3.0d.... - no 6cyl petrol right now for F31 available. Only 328i (4cyl) and 320d (idem). And if you lease your car, even if the 335i would exist, it would be 40% more expensive because of lower value at end of lease + taxes here in europe + petrol cost. In france, just as an example, we have a tax on co2, of 0euros for 330d F30 and 2600 euros for 335i .... You can have the auto tranny for free on the 330d... So, 330d is maybe not a winner compared to 335i, but it is not far away from it when you take all that into account.... Personnally, my car is a 330d F31, with 258hp, I can assure you that it deserve its M sport badge, if you accept that it is different from a M3 ( the 335i is a not a real M car too). I would love to have a 335i, but hell, i love this 330d!!!!! |

I currently drive an E91 328i M-sport 6MT RWD in Le Mans Blue. It's been a great car, and I'd get another in a heartbeat. A perfect car for a small family (just me, my wife, and two yorkies). I get positive comments from enthusiasts and "normal people" everywhere I go. The F31 330d touring would have been an excellent replacement.
Unfortunately, the lease is up in March, which will be too soon for an F31 to show up. Plus no MT available in the USA. I just ordered an F30 335i M-Sport 6MT RWD in Estoril Blue to replace the wagon, and I know I'm going to miss the versatility of the touring. I just drove a 320d as a loaner while on a business trip to Germany, and it was plenty powerful enough for autobahn driving and some fun on back roads. The 330d would be a blast, regardless of body style. |

Also the 330d performs better than the 328i which is the only configuration we get in the states currently. I would pick a 330d on that criteria alone if it were available. |

If they bring a 3er GT to the states in 35i trim I'm going to be really unhappy... I would already own an e91 m-sport if I could have gotten one with the right engine...
