Rheingold 3.47.10 issues
Hi there,
Sorry if this was asked before, but I have an issue with getting Rheingold to work. I managed to install it and to get it running. I even managed to have it see my car in the connection manager (I see the VIN/ IP assigned, etc). The problem is that as soon as I double click on it to set up a connection, I get an error "Unable to identify vehicle" :| Any thoughts on what the problem is? Thanks!

Apparently in the TesterGUI.config the Ediabas path was incorrectly set up. Once I pointed it to the correct folder everything worked.

I have the same issue as you, can see VIN and IP assigned, but prompt me cannot find vehicle and check "ignition on" when making connection. Of course I have ignition on already. I cannot find TesterGUI.config like you but there is a folder called TesterGUI under C:\Rheingold . Unter C:\Rheingold\TesterGUI\bin\Release there is a file called ISTAGUI.exe.config and ISTAGUI.exe . The .exe file is which I used to start the program. Do you mean modify ISTAGUI.exe file for the correct EDIABAS path? I'm using Rheingold 3.47.30 .... Thanks in advance! |

i was never able to connect to the car using Rheingold using the ENET option.
Originally, after entering my VIN, and having all the info show up, i clicked on Connect to car. Another dialog shows up listing my car there with the status showing "Free", but then the button to do the actual connect never gets activated (shows as greyed out), so it just stayed stuck there. I had to go into the Settings (click on Wrench icon at the top) to configure the connection. I selected VCI config. , then i selected Ediabas standard. Then back at the normal screens, instead of entering VIN, I clicked the 2nd block that says "Read Out Vehicle Data" > "Complete Identification" After that, it connected to the car, and all my Control Units were displayed in that tree/graph. |

In my case there was a line which was commented out, related to the Ediabas path. It it's like that for you as well, remove the <-- and --> surrounding that line. I'll check when I get home to give you the exact one.

I spent a bit of time trying to solve this issue. The error message given by Rheingold is very cryptic. Only the logs helped a bit. They were mentioning that they couldn't load api32.dll, a file that I traced back to the Ediabas folder.
